100% agree. The end of the film ruined the rest of it. It was like they introduced a new protagonist with a deadly set of skills who had no fear or struggle. It was in complete contrast to the rest of the otherwise brilliant tension of the film. Can't believe the writer took this (genuine) criticism so fickle.

I watched the movie after seeing your review and was actually blown away - really decent film. I agree though there were a couple of scenes that felt out of character or odd. But I really liked the angle he took on it. The end 20 minutes pissed me off just seemed to keep going. I remember thinking it would have been a perfect film if it had ended in the asylum where he whispered "surprise" - but I get that (particularly due to the subject matter) the masses and the producers needed to see her "win".
