Southern people say "set" down sometimes. Not sure if there's any particular reason. TBH spelling fascism (in america, at least) is just an extension of Jim Crowe legislation. It's obvious once you see it. If people can understand what you are saying, you pronounced it good. If people know what you are writing, you wrote it goodly.
