Sheep have 3 main objectives in life, As father and uncle Phil said, the first one is to break out, the second one is to limp and the third one is to die. And when they aren't breaking out, limping and dying they are lying chewing their cud while thinking up new ways to break out ,limp and die.

Bertie is challenging Father Phil and your uncle for star of the show! Fair play Phil on being open about the depression, that can’t have been easy.

Really love your round the table chats about the past and the farm, it's so interesting. Well done for throwing the spotlight on mental health and not been afraid to say you have also suffered. Your openness will encourage someone else to seek help. Farming can be a lonely and all consuming occupation. Best of luck to you all.

Great video Phil always great to hear about the history of the farm. Great to here you talking about mental health. I’ve suffered myself also. The way I see it now everyone has mental health good or bad. We all have highs and lows. Talking about bad days really does help. Don’t keep things to yourself. I’m always there for anyone that wants to chat. Take it easy everyone

I really enjoyed that, thank you. Have heard some great stories myself about the old days of mixed farming in South Longford, It's great to see somebody bring them to KZbin. The Economic War was tough on a lot of farmers - would be interested to hear more about the history of the farm in that era.

Great video phill. Your dad and uncle have great minds to remember every detail. I can hardly recall what I did last week . It's sad to see the demise of small farms and self sufficiency. My grandparents kept cows goats pigs and hens on small farms and reared large families. Impossible to do that now. Red tape has this country ruined. I'm in th process of buying a house on 3.5 acres at the moment so hopefully will be growing a few spuds and keeping a few hens 🤞

How come your area has been plagued with TB Phil. Nice vid aswell
@mistypeppercorn9144 жыл бұрын
Phil, if you remember the next time, can you ask if the family ever got tested for TB in the hospital after going down. I know farmers that have gone down a few times in a row, and I was just wondering if they were the carriers ? There has to be a bloody cure out there and the drug companies are just not letting on.
@HootMaRoot4 жыл бұрын
There is a vaccine for tb, but all the tests they will ever do to test for tb will always come back as positive after the vacations. But I think since the animals will be for human consumption they need a test that would come back as negative incase it ever becomes resistant to the vaccine
