Maybe if the degenerate CEO settled for 1 million a year paycheck instead of 26+ million they would be able to avoid layoffs? In any event he will need to find a new job after stockholders learn about Trump's import tariffs for manufacturing in foreign countries.

@@patriot8087 Does a CEO need a 25 million dollar bonus...FOR FUCKING UP? Pull your head out of your ass, respectfully
@timwade126616 күн бұрын
@@patriot8087 Actually, both. Because the companies are publicly traded and generally owned by large institutional investors (Black Rock, Fidelity, etc.) the only metric that matters is profit. Not customer satisfaction or loyalty, not being a good corporate citizen (because they are global citizens), not providing good safe meaningful and gainful employment, just making as much money as possible or the CEO is replaced by the board. True, regulations increase cost and chase off jobs. But a regulation that I would like to see is that companies of X size (by revenue or assets) are REQUIRED to provide a defined benefit plan (pension) as opposed to a defined contribution plan. That would secure more workers in retirement, simultaneously rewarding workers who built the profits and limit the ability to overpay executives since part of the pool of profits is required to fund the plan.

@emersonranchhorses Any laptop or smart phone can read codes off JD. Aftermarket connectors are a thing, just like with CAT. Software is also a thing for everything with ECM's PCM's TCM's DCM's BCM's and the list goes on. A computer does not tell the problem, just a code. It's up to the owner to trace the issue on why the code came up. And that is why some of us "diagnostic" people make good money, we find the issue and don't just toss random parts at things. And have a nice day.

While it may seem surprising, global companies in Mexico pay competitive wages to attract and keep skilled managers.
@Mike44460Ай бұрын
@DriveInAction I started at Packard Electric in Warren, Ohio, in 2000. Warren operations produced wire, plastic connectors, and the metal terminals. General Motors had moved some of these products to Mexico long before I was hired. Engineers from Mexico came to Warren to see how we did operations so that they could figure out why they couldn't produce what we made. I was friends with some of the engineers, and at one point, the Mexicans were following him around trying desperately to solve a problem in Mexico. We they moved on. I asked him how their wages compared to his. Not even half. Producing metal terminals requires skill. This is one part of the automotive wire harness they just can't make. To this day, Mexico can't make or maintain the tools used in terminal production. I was told that when GM went to Mexico in the 1970s, it would take three generations for the skilled trade workers to equal the American workers. So fifty years later and they still don't match the American workers.

At the end of the day John Deere has good management; some/most crop prices are down, so that means less sales; so you can't overproduce, and then have inventory sitting there for a year or two. Not one cent goes to the millions of retired individuals relying on the Social Security Fund that has been raided nearly to extinction by both Progressive and Conservative US Presidents.
