Limp Bizkit may have devolved into a meme over the years but that doesn't change the fact that they have some honestly really good deep cuts that the casual Limp fan probably completely forgot about. "It'll Be Okay" and "Don't Go Off Wandering" are two that immediately come to mind. Also, Fred may have had the charisma and front man gimmick down pat but no one should ever pretend that he was the musical muscle in the band, because we all know that Wes Borland was responsible for making their music stand out. The outro to Nookie where Wes makes his guitar sound like it's laughing was just one neat example of his uniqueness. Not to mention the downright strange tunings and string size combinations. I remember trying to download a guitar tab for Nookie and just being completely flabbergasted as to how to emulate that sound.

Limp bizkit has always been a meme...we just didn't have that word in 1998. The original name of the band was gonna be Blood Fart...they've always been like this

for sure... i still have no idea how that riff is played, i looked it up on youtube and already forgot.. he joins the ranks of people like Tom Morello or maybe even the guys in Korn for really thinking outside of the box with the guitar

WWE put _Chocolate Starfish_ to great use. There was nothing more badass in 2001 than The Undertaker riding to the ring on his motorcycle with "Rolling" as his entrance music. And then there was that absolute masterpiece of a hype package for the Wrestlemania XVII match between The Rock and Steve Austin with "My Way" playing over it.

By the way, Significant Other was supposed to have a cover song. They were going to do their version of 1999 by Prince but he said no (as he did for many artists) so they made the original song Nine-Teen Ninety Nine. They still did perform the Prince cover live.

About a year ago, with the whole nu metal nostalgia being everywhere, i finally could stop calling Bizkit my guilty pleasure, and just admit they have some honestly great jams. Counterfeit, Re-Arranged and Livin It Up are just enjoyable tracks to have on my nu metal playlist. Of course i was always a huge fan of rap-rock so this style was my cup of tea anyway. I used to be obsessed with RATM in my early teens and my favorite band for years was 311. Sure their sound includes other styles like reggae but their early albums were mainly rap-rock. So gotta give a shoutout to them being one of the first to do that crossover well!

One of my favorite Limp Bizkit moments was when they showed up to some VMA awards in like 2003 and you could tell that Emo had taken over and even they looked like they knew it was the end of their relevance. The look of Fred's face when an interviewer asked if he was excited to see Good Charlotte perform was priceless. I never liked this band...but I like this video.

Limp Bizkit pretty much missed my radar, but I know them through the wrestling connection. Undertaker's theme for a little while... "Keep rollin, rollin, rollin...". Chocolate Starfish was my favorite album BUT, I was also 11 years old when it came out so.... yeah. I shouldn't have been listening but of course I ate that shit up lol. I can vividly remember begging my mom to let me buy it at walmart (edited version, of course! ah, the nostalgia) and then her driving us to our local big burger place and listening to the whole album nearly all the way through by the time we actually got our food. I never really cared for their first two albums aside from the few singles, and... yeah, by the time Results May Vary came out, I was onto my weeb phase and hated anything that wasn't jrock/visual kei. I gave them all a relisten earlier this year and my verdict is... yeah. Limp Bizkit does indeed still suck. They are basically the Pauly Shore of rock music.

Now you've got me curious as to what the song Hot Dog sounds like on the clean version of the album. Did they simply mute all 46 F bombs? Was the song just removed from it altogether? Did Fred use a different word in place of "fuck"? I legit need to look this up on KZbin right now, brb lol
@joshtoten

@@jonbourgoin182 It's been so many years since I listened and no longer have possession of the CD, but I THINK they just muted every utterance of fuck. It was a gamble when buying those censored CDs. The best ones would play the word backwards which I thought was neat as hell. I think I remember a few doing record scratches too which was also a neat effect. The more generic ones did the blanking. And then... the worst offenders put in that annoying ass BEEP. I wonder if I can hunt down a digital copy of the edited album to confirm...

Limp Bizkit were always seen as jokes back then? They were in the UK at least? They had a few hits but were literally only popular with little kids. I do like Behind Blue Eyes but its a Who cover so that explains that. I just thought Fred Durst was a joke singing bad, rebellious little kid songs at the age of 30+ years old was a bit sad (I'm 4 years younger than him)
