what do the " X " mean on tab

The X mean that you have to mute the strings of the power chord. They're called octave-based power chord. You can mute the string with the middle or ring finger depending on how you play regular power chords.

​​@@solaropposite6112you have only to muted it in general. I was referring to regular power chords like 355 and with the octave based like 3x5. In this song just play 0 in palm mute and with the left hand slightly mute the string so you achieve that chug. There's no specific strumming pattern you can play it however you feel most comfortable, downpicking or alternative picking or a mixture of both
