The assist numbers for the knicks from last year are a big deal too. The numbers tell a story of a truly dynamic offense that does all things good to well. They pass more. Have better movement. They still take great shots but also now from deep. They are less iso heavy and offensive rebound reliant. The one thing they dont do is play with high pace which is arguably not necessary if they continue being the best half court starting 5 in the league. The defense has been good and getting better and their d efficiency rank looks very different when you take out the first nights celtic drubbing. Right now they are playing lighter teams so its hard to figure out if they have reached a level where the offense is truly dominant, but the magic game was a big data point. Kat in his first 20 games is our best center since ewing. He needs way more press, now that davis is fading.

The 3 pointer strategy is because of the 1/3 3-point percentage is the same as the 2/3 2-pont percentage. But also it opens the interior. And that increase your 2-point percentage. So, if you are shooting .40 in three pointers, the team is probably shooting .55 or so in the point or just outside the paint. That's why we see 50 plus shooting percentages regularly.

It's weird how nobody wanted to ban all the 3s when Warriors were setting records every year and winning titles. All I heard from the NBA analysts is what a beautiful game it was and how this was they way the game was meant to be played. Then the Celtics won a title doing it. Now it's ruined the game and needs to be banned because people hate the Celtics. I guarantee you if Lakers or Knicks were doing the same thing and won a title there'd be no talk about it ruining the game, it'd be the golden era of beautiful basketball.

Personally, I find the Celtics offense boring, repetitive, and uninteresting. It has been described as an analytical tactic. It’s a statistical strategy which, in my opinion, is also unattractive. Drive, kick out, drive, kick out, drive, kick out. 😒

Yep, i still don't fully agree with the 3 pointer logic. For some players, maybe it makes sense if you're Seth Curry. But It's Especially not for everyone.Take a guy like SGA for example. He is shooting way more 3's. But not only is his shooting numbers down, but he is getting to the FT less, which obviously is getting opposing defenders out of would-be foul trouble. I believe he is also turning it over a bit more too. So more 3's is NOT a good for thing for everyone. More 3's for him & the mid range killers is just bailing defenses out.

The thing about bridges not getting to the line is that he’s adjusting to a system where himself and OG are either outside or cutting on the opposite side of the action. This is all centered around Brunson and towns/hart who are on most possessions doing a high screen and roll/pop in the middle of the floor. The lack of shot attempts is more because he’s no longer the number one option on a team with two bonafide scorers, and because of that, he’s doesn’t need to be as aggressive searching for shots in that offense. OG is shooting the same shots, the difference being, his are going in from everywhere. I believe at this moment bridges and OG lead the league in corner three point percentage too

The Lakers played the lower performing teams during the "win streak" I don't understand how analysis do not see that. And they barely beat the Jazz recently. Lebron literally does not move on defense and just points or stands there watching layups. That has been a major contributor.

Not only do they played below 500 teams. Those teams were missing their star players & some have key role players out while AD & Lebron were all available except for 1 gm that AD missed. Additionally, they were gifted at least 2 of those wins by the ref. The most disparaging one was the 1st Raptors gm in Toronto were they got 43 fts compared to 13 fts. They won by 5. The 4Q officiating was disgusting.

Only way to lower the 3 point attempt IMO is to adjust what is considered a foul to the shooter. defenses have a really hard time on close out 3D and even when there isn't close out if the defender gets too close, the shooter shoots and kicks their feet to draw a foul.
