Steve you said the MG had an aftermarket Overdrive fitted. It didn't occur to me immediately but I wonder if it is a "Laycock' kit? They did kits for other makes as well I think but theirs was the most popular for MG'S. I was looking at MG'S for sale recently and at least one said 'fitted with Laycock Overdrive '. I can't say for certain that they were shipped to the USA but its quite possible. You may find a label somewhere aiso stating the Model number, they usually put a label on the car. Sorry I didn't mention it before. 🇬🇧👍

That 1967 Morris MIni Cooper S , is most likely an Australian built Mini. I had one of these in 1969 (mine was Baby blue,with white roof) . Great fun cars with phenomenal cornering ability.

Refurbished a '68 MGC in the mid-80s in BRG. Mechanicals were all good, really enjoyed the overdrive feature and the exhaust note. Really enjoyed it the few years I had it and a Brit on vacation convinced me that he would return to England and to a good home, so I let him take it since I had an '84 Spider Veloce I needed to get on to.

Hi, thanks for another great video. Is that a little American Austin or Bantam at the back of his workshop at the beginning when you're working on the car? I'd love to know what happened to that one, or the Elf/Hornet that appeared as you drove the car out of the workshop... My personal car of the show: that little Singer!

@davidjones3322 жыл бұрын
I'm really getting tired of this cheap jibe. I've driven loads of cars with Lucas electrics and had far fewer issues than with the offerings from several American-owned makes. The electrical system on this car has obviously been bodged up, so you can hardly blame Lucas for that.

Hi Steve. Great video, I love the old British cars, being old and British myself. You got a much different result with towing with the all electric F150 than Hoovie's garage did, have you seen that video? any comment?
@ThisWeekWithCars2 жыл бұрын
He admits in his latest video that he sensationalized the whole thing for views. Everyone wants to make a video showing it’s terrible because so many people want it to be. They don’t care about showing it being used as an electric pickup and using it as intended.

It’s a Wolseley Hornet. Judging by the fact it’s a convertible and has a registration plate in the range LLH 8- -D, it’s one of the 57 prize giveaway cars from a Heinz promotion run in 1966 in the UK. The Crayford Convertible Club estimates there are 41 left.

My first car was a 1959 Wolseley 15/60 field find which I bought from the farmer for $18. I was 13 years old and drove it on the farm until the frame broke by the rear spring 2 years later. I loved that car, even got the grills Wolseley light working.

Gonna leave the battery charger clamps hooked to the terminals UNDER the SEALED battery compartment cover? Hmmmmm…. So, what will happen when one of those clamps vibrate loose? Short circuit under that cover that you won’t know about until you smell the smoke…..in a HARDTOP. Sounds like a great plan bro. Good luck on that.
