Well i have bough the same phas as you . But one thing i am disappointed that i didn't get the 65watt chager brick . 😭 . But your talking about the aeroactive cooler of rog . It doesn't work at all better buy radiator cooler it will improve your gaming experience and with FPS stability with the right setting on xmode customised . You get level 3 performance with out the cooler itself

Well the phones heats on the outside. Rog also said this when they launched the phone. Just to make the phone cool on the inside it's like throwing the heat on the phone cover.

Hi I live in the USA and was wondering for the regular rog phone 5 what carriers you recommend and stuff I had a rog phone 5 I sent back cause it was a global rom one and I couldn't get signal most the time and didn't know if it mattered that it was the global one and not the international one or something? Basically ordered it and when I went to use it straight talk wouldn't let me even try to activate it with them so I did the at and t bring your own phone thing and I only got signal in town about 30% the time when I have friends in town on at and t that have signal everywhere . I was led to believe that some versions of the phone work better or pickup more towers in the USA .

@@hawks9939 yes for gaming, it's a great device, shouldn't saying because "ROG phone 5" has some issues like wifi doesn't working or Hotspot and then "DEAD". I recommend you to go for "ROG PHONE 5S" that device doesn't have any issues. Yeah if it will heat or maybe more because of snapdragon 888 plus version. But if you need a great stable gaming device.. Then yes, go for it :).

The side aluminum frame really do burn when touched after a long game it reached 49 °C and i think it is not good for the phone that's why i stopped using it for 5 minutes to cooldown

Actually there is no different unless you download cpu-z on the phone because all the spec are similar except for the processor.

No way to tell by looking at the phone. The box label will say. If you have a phone, go to settings/system/about phone/hardware information. If CPU = 2.99 GHz, then it's a 5s. Yes, it would be easy to scam buying online.

@@Manbha117 2.84 GHz. A bigger issue is the locale version. Both the 5 and 5s non-pro, non-ultimate identify themselves as Asus_I005DC. This does not indicate which locale version (A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H) the phone is. There is no way of knowing which carrier bands the phone supports from inspecting the phone. Many people have struggled with this issue. The product ID on the box is probably a way, but Asus does not disclose how to decode it.

You’re really gonna need the cooler as almost all SD888 phones are hot. Can’t really blame the manufacturer. It’s definitely Qualcomm’s fault here in my opinion.

If Qualcomm used TSMC then it wouldn't been happened.. Now next incoming snapdragon 8 Gen 1 + they gonna use TSMC so would be much better than previous. Good efficiency, good heating management and nice sustain performance.

if you're thinking about longer battery life this might not be the right phone. From my experience the screen on time is not that good. Even with ultra durable mode and 60hz you won't get decent battery life. Other than that it's an amazing phone. Performs well.

I bought this same device hoping to play games without any issues for years. But boy I was wrong. The processor provides the performance it is expected to, but the motherboard on which it is mounted on is so weak that it cant handle a bit of heat from the processor. So I played games which was really smooth as Lim said, but only for exactly 6 months after which I had to swap the motherboard. [ Btw the games I played are PUBG Mobile and Apex legends. ] As he said repeatedly, please buy the cooler or anything that keeps the phone cool should do.

To those who thinking to buy this phone, don't. Mines ded, can't claim warranty becouse of backglass. My problem? Start with no wifi, no hotspot, then no sound, and suddenly, can't open anymore. My advice? Go for other. A waste of your money. My Poco x3 nfc do take fall quite a lot before getting rog 5s, and it still alive and well.

its my dream phone. no matter how bad others complaint about it. i still using it till now already 1 and half year. no problem, no lag, if hot, put cooler radiator, i play all big game on it. untill now, i still don't see any problem with the system or cpu or motherboard or over heating. i said it again. till now 0% faulty detected on this 5s. thats why i really love it and appreciate it so much

Don't know if those problems are real or not, Hunter. I have had the North American 5s for over four months. I'm on firmware 206. Got thru the 175 version where people were complaining about wifi. I had no problems. The radios in this phone have fantastic range. Better than my daughter's S21 Ultra. I did have the "reboot at 10% charge" problem caused by firmware update. Next update fixed it. I'm trying to stick with Android 11. I do believe people who say that 12 is a poor match for the phone's UI. The 5s is a good value compared to the S21 Ultra. They are similar in many ways, but the 5s is better in many areas, and less expensive. You'll have to do more work to find good cases and screen protectors, but they are out there. I have the white version shown here. At first, I thought it was "girly", but it is a thing of beauty that pictures can't describe.

Go to Armoury Crate/Console/Advanced and create a custom power profile. Set CPU, GPU, RAM to low and select other settings as desired. The favored core will still clock up to 3.00 GHz. Set touch sensitivity low and screen to 60 Hz. Then go to Settings/Battery/Battery Care Select Steady Charging and 90% max. My phone never gets over 31C, even when charging It still charges in an hour. You can easily switch to X Mode in quick settings to get maximum performance.

You can only feel heat in x mode and if you are playing max graphical settings in games. For normal daily usage, there is no heating that can be felt on the device. ROG phone 5s user here.
