I agree, the ones that say they are just a vantage in a new body has never welded with them. I have 2 cross countries along with slicked out chopped pipeliners. The cross country is a bad ass machine without a doubt.

The best way I could explain the arc control is to treat it like an SA200, but your fine adjustment is divided into 2 controls instead of 1 rheostat. So while an SA200 rheostat changes both arc voltage and amperage, the Cross Country let's you control the arc voltage seperately from the voltage. Example to make it easier to understand- on a CC300 with arc control at 55 and amperage at 115, it welds like my SA200 at 3rd gear 55. But if I want the kind of arc I get at 2nd gear 75 for example, I can just turn arc control up to 75 and keep same amperage.

the SA200s and 300's were amazing,and we all knew how to run them. the biggest issue was A/C output.I bought a Miller PipePro 400 instead and haven't looked back

I thought the screens would be awesome after seeing Lincoln test them in freezing temperatures and put a power washer right to it! Unfortunately the 260 and 330 mpx models are having screen failures that make it so you can't weld with the machine just because ba stupid screen won't boot up and needs replacing. After seeing that I'd stick the old style.
