The great second part of the greatest Lincoln documentary ever made :) Lincoln always had it in him; his brilliance, his inner strength, his unique capacity for kindness, but it was the Presidency where he was able to use these exceptional human faculties to lead and guide the United States through its gravest crisis, and help make it a freer and more just nation than ever before. I'm glad beyond words that this exquisite series exists.

Excellent series. I’ve watched two on Lincoln so far. Lincoln’s own words give us the true measure of the man and are words to live by and be guided by even today. Perhaps most especially today when these battles, unbelievable as it may seem, are upon us again.

@@BethLeslie-w8j Not really. We don't have any battles that relate to slavery or the oppression of blacks. We are fighting for our freedom though. The problem is, the enemy has the media and a huge portion of the government behind it.

I myself do wish the dates of history spoken would also have been written. I am for the most part a visual learner and have somewhat of a photographic memory. All together incredible documentary series.

Very well done series. But I can't help but think of Darth Vader in the back of my mind with the narration.

The voice of the lincon actor is stuffy and hard to relate to as Lincoln probably had a higher pitched, more musical voice with the nose he had. a voice like the one in the documentary could not have communicated the way lincoln with his country rhythmcial voice could have. Ken curtis as festus hagin, in gunsmoke, probably would have been closer to the compelling voice of lincoln.

actually, a lincoln voice like dennis weaver would have been right on.
