I know exactly what you mean, John. I remember playing this album so many times that I had to buy another one because I wore the first one out. I remember the first time I heard it. It was at a Sunday Tea Dance at a club in New York called the Ice Palace. I was there just about every Sunday and in my humble, today's music just has no soul, nothing I can identify with, so I listen to the music that inspired me all those years ago and I play them all the time in my home, especially when I am cleaning my home from top to bottom. Our music is what I call areal music with real instruments, it's the absolute best and I am so glad that you have enjoyed this song as much as I have all those years ago, we were fortunate enough to experience it when it came out all those years ago and our brand of music is timeless...

Absolutely F*c*ing Fabulous. This brings me back to my Disco Queen years in 1978/1979. Such a fabulous time. The clubs, the clothes, the people, the attitude. What the hell went wrong? It's just not the same nowadays!!!!

My love of music began with Donna. A dear friend of mine introduced me to Donna's music when he played both the Love To Love You Baby & A Love Trilogy albums. He had advised me to try and get her new album at that time, Four Seasons Of Love, so I begged my mother to purchase the album for me and I was beyond thrilled when I heard it the first time. I then became so obsessed with Donna, that I promised myself to purchase two copies of each of her albums because I always felt that Donna's album covers were and still are, a true work of art, so I purchased one to listen to and the other, to keep them for posterity, I still have all of those albums, in pristine condition, including the unopened ones, in my vinyl collection, I refuse to part with them...

+Dyana Bartley back in 1983, CDs were new and exciting and it took a while for me to stop buying vinyl LPs. when I moved apts in nyc I had to make a decision of what to do with my hundreds of LPs. unfortunately I chose to trash them all. I regret that always.

I simply could not part with any of my vinlys, so I had asked my mom if I could store them in her house until I made arrangements to have them stored somewhere else, so I kept them in a storage facility until I was able to provide a home for myself and my belongings, and thankfully, I still have my vinlys and as I understand it, they're making a huge comeback, it seems everything "old" is somehow, new again, and I am thrilled about it...

I'm probably gonna step on a lot of toes here, but out of all the other cover versions, Linda Clifford's rendition of this immense classic is LIT! The following is from an article I read about this classic in Wikipedia: "Linda Clifford, Curtis Mayfield's protegee signed on his Curtom label, released an up-tempo disco version of "Bridge over Troubled Water" on her album Let Me Be Your Woman in March 1979. This epic version was produced by Gil Askey (jazz trumpet player and musical director for many Motown acts) and mixed by Jimmy Simpson, brother of Valerie Simpson from Ashford and Simpson. The song has two originalities, the first one being a 132 bpm tempo (considered the ideal tempo for disco dancing) when the Simon and Garfunkel original is 82 bpm and Aretha Franklin's cover is 76 bpm. It was the first time that this song was covered with a fast tempo. It also has a highly original "Brazilian cuica on a disco beat" break. It became a US disco #11, pop #41, R&B #49 and UK #28." This is why I personally love her version of this so much (I'm not saying that the other covers are bad though).

Oh my god. I was lucky to get into Studio 54 in December 1978. Only because my friend was a friend of Steve Rubel & Ian Schraeger. I never went to Xenon, but, I preferred Ice Palace 57. I adored The Embassy Club in Old Bond Street, London. Great days, great music, fabulous outrageous people. Now I'm an old fart xx

Para mi la verdadera época del Disco Músic fue en los años 78,79,80 y no en los 80 como dicen porque arrancando el año 81 apareció con fuerza un ritmo o estilo que llamaron New Wave creo se escribía así entonces esa apreciación que es común oír que la época de los 80 fue el tiempo del Disco Músic es errónea a mi parecer
