Linda Coils Wood-Mizer Blades and Drives the Toyota Forklift

Twenty-eight is an unusual number of of ruined blades from any custom sawing job. Though this job yielded 10,000 board feet of finished lumber from naily logs, it was still a record number of bands. Several of the logs had railroad spikes embedded in them, which demolished the teeth instantly.
Our standard practice is to metal detect for an approximate location, avoid that area until last, then hit the metal with an older blade to pin point the exact location and dig it out. This greatly increases yield and conserves time. Sometimes we can sharpen the blade, if it isn't in too bad of shape. Otherwise the blade goes to be recycled.
