I think it would have been different had she had to confront wild mice/rats, not the tame pet type. I'm not only terrified of wild ones (the pet ones don't bother me too much) but even the sight of a dead rat/mouse is terrifying, so I could never use traps either. Interesting that the phobia actually has a name.

Rats don't bite more than mice. When you leave them alone and don't hurt them, none of them will bite you. They are more scared of you.

I identify with Linda, I was considering moving out of my apartment and saw a mouse and left my apartment the next morning and never went back until it was time to clear it out, The sight of mice make me literally want to die.

Linda actually likes mice now! After we cured her she went on 'I'm a celebrity get me out of here' and she faced rats daily with no issues.
