I'm not born yet when she was on her prime years. I wished somehow that I was born a little earlier because I appreciated not only her songs, craftsmanship and musicianship but also her as a total person. There's no one like her. Through my hard times, I was just listening to her songs and it made me feel better. Thank you Linda, for bringing back my spirit. I promise that I will carry your songs and love for music here in my heart wherever I go.

charmaine garino What a lovely, gracious comment! Like Ms. Ronstadt, you were born after many singers you admire. Also, like her, you have a grateful heart. There is a line from a song in the Trio collection that says, "God never gives us back our youth." Ms. Ronstadt has embraced every phase of life and has left much beauty in its wake. I wish she could read your comment; it would be a lovely gift for her 74th birthday...which is today!

Superb voice and the band, lucky the performance is kept for posterity, wonder if Nelson Riddle was with her in Japan?

She was outstanding, simply an incredibly good singer. Now, her gift is gone due to Parkinson's Disease. She has said, in interviews, that she can't hit the notes can't sing. We all face deterioration of our skills as we age but we have some good memories . . . and youtube.

And..um..there was no such thing as "Autotune" in those days...that right-down-the-middle-pitch is all Linda. :) Plas Johnson is so beautiful here, and so is the orchestra.

Why do people make such distasteful comments which has nothing whatsoever with this wonderful song?

What a beautiful rendition of the song. What a grgeous voice, now silenced forever by parkensons. Time to pray for Lindas sanity, for she has lost her instrument. In the same position, I think I would be ready to die.

If you're still out there, Louis, just read that Ms. Ronstadt is co-writing a book with a fellow-Arizonian about their Mexican heritage and upbringing. She's not yet finished expressing all that's in her mind and heart.

She is great but the Frank Sinatra version of this song is 100 times better

A tribute to Sinatra. A stalwart Sinatra fan since 1953, I wouldn't dream of imagining that Ms. Ronstadt issued this repertoire, collaborating with Mr. Riddle, to challenge him.
