Bonnie Raitt does a Beautiful Rendition of this Libby Titus , Eric Kaz penned Masterpiece . There is a Version on KZbin where Bonnie Performs this with Crosby , Stills , and Nash at the 25th Anniversary of The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame , that is Absolutely Heart Wrenching . Her Falsetto of the line " I'll fall down on my knees " will break the Heart of anyone with a Heartbeat . But of course I also Love when Linda Sings it also . Bonnie's Version is more of a Blues Style with her playing Guitar . I Love Them Both Equally in their own right ☮️

This is how a true artist did it in 1976, youngsters. No fancy stage show, no boy dancers. You had to have the talent to carry it off, and Linda did. Plus she had a top-flight band.

Saw her several times in the mid 70's and early 80's and she NEVER missed a note, no matter how impossible the note she tried was. You think about some of the songs, and then you think about Desperado, in effect a perfect song when sung by Henley, was even better when she sang it, truly remarkable!

Yes, Linda has ALways been my absolute favorite. Pretty much broke my heart for her to say she never even cared for all the Rock & Roll, etc. she sang in the 70's. Only did it because of her manager. Said she only found herself when she connected with Nelson Riddle. Really? I am still thankful for her very convincing deliveries of dozens of tunes that will forever leave an indelible mark in my music cache. Love! her voice! And she was a beauty! She can keep her politics.

There is NO 'bad' version of this song!! THANK YOU Eric Kaz & Company for writing it!!! I love Linda's AND Bonnie's version equally for different 'takes' on this masterpiece (Bonnie's plaintive voice and simple arrangement, and LInda's strong, emotive voice with pedal steel backup). ;) I've been to many of this incomparable songstress' shows in the '70s (many on a co-bill with Jackson Browne), and to say she stole my heart and soul in every way possible is a major understatement! I will NEVER forget her, or those performances.

The greatest female singer for my generation in my opinion (born in 1973). I know her looks were secondary to her voice, but damn she was a fine-looking woman! The combination of her beauty inside and out and that heavenly voice is beyond compare to anyone since Linda. And she without a doubt deserves her place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, right alongside the Eagles, the band that she helped form. She has given this world so many gifts and deserves more credit than she has received.

I've had bad dreams too many times To think that they don't mean much anymore Fine times have gone and left my sad home Friends who once cared just walk out my door Love has no pride when I call out your name Love has no pride when there's no one left to blame I'd give anything to see you again I've been alone too many nights To think that you could come back again And I've heard you talk, "she's crazy to stay" But this love hurts me so, I don't care what you say Love has no pride when I call out your name Love has no pride when there's no one left to blame I'd give anything to see you again If I could buy your love, I'd truly try, my friend And if I could pray, my prayer would never end But if you want me to beg, I'll fall down on my knees Asking for you to come back, I'd be pleading for you to come back Begging for you to come back to me Love has no pride when I call out your name Love has no pride when there's no one but myself to blame I'd give anything to see you again Yes, I'd give anything to see you again
