A breathtaking performance, and it certainly doesn't hurt that she was at the peak of her beauty!

Behold the way our fine feathered friend His virtue doth parade Thou knowest not my dim-witted friend The picture thou hast made Thy vacant brow and thy tousled hair Conceal thy good intent Thou noble, upright, truthful, sincere And slightly dopey gent You're my funny valentine Sweet comic valentine You make me smile with my heart Your looks are laughable Unphotographable Still you're my favorite work of art Is your figure less than Greek Is your mouth a little weak When you open it to speak Are you smart Don't change a hair for me Not if you care for me Stay, little valentine, stay Each day is Valentine's Day

The cellist in the background has already been captured by the spell of this magic beauty - the song no doubt, but performing with Ronstadt would've been jolly captivating as well!

Wow, just wow. She always puts a beautiful spin on the songs she sings.

She could sing the Phonebook and put her unique spin on it and it would sound great.

A rarity for concert vocal performances, but here Linda manages to sing, emote and definitively own this iconic ballad standard, as Platonically perfect as on her studio album. Her oeuvre and she are one of 20th century music's crown jewels.

The star of the show is the lady playing the cello. She's all heart....watch her face and movements. Magnificent performance by Linda.

if you listen closely for the cello, you can hear how her every motion is in perfect response to Linda's movement of the phrase - this is TRUE Chamber Music

You realize this is perfection right? One female voice and five musicians backing her up? Wtf...this is surreal...Love you baby.

A few experts have said that Linda's version is one of the definitive versions of this song! She rescued it from being a tacky lounge lizard fiasco, polished it and reclaimed it as the gem it is!
@EntertainMe4632 жыл бұрын
hands down...my favorite version. i love that she added the beginning segment.
@Marcel_Audubon2 жыл бұрын
just because a lounge lizard 🦎 sings it doesn't make it a lounge lizard fiasco. If that were true, every song Sinatra ever sang would have been ruined.

It's awfully close for I always thought Jo Ann Greer's version to be the best but Linda has the bigger voice

Beautiful voice and interesting production with the 5 piece orchestra. But the simplicity of Barbra Streisand's version captures the intimacy and emotion of a valentine.

Beats the hell out of that unlistenable version by Elvis Costello. Of course, the hipster critics think the Costello version is a masterpiece.

One of the most overrated standards. It's simpering. Musically simple and lyrically meh. Schmaltz. Judy Garland refused to sing it, and she sang her share of crap. She said this song was like practicing the scales.
