PART 6
A very deep, touching and intense interview given by Linda Thompson to Larry King, back in 2002. You don't wanna miss it!
Linda is so self confident and so "herself"... she doesn't try to pretend to be something that she isn't or never was in her life. I truly trust on whatever she says, as if she was my best girlfriend at High Shool - kind of! LOL!

I don't' know what the big deal with Larry King is, or why people would want to go there for an interrogation, I mean interview, unless they are getting paid lots. Linda is very patient to put up with all his interruptions and asking questions after another without giving her much to answer each question.

Yup! People just are in so much denial about Elvis. He was an addict. And addict just leaves a bitter trail of tears. (I did) I love Elvis but part of his story is that he became addicted and for whatever reason could not or would not seek help. Don't blame the Memphis mafia, don't blame Linda, they all tried. I didn't know that she was so eloquent. Larry is a terrible interviewer, he just won't shut up and listen. Was he always like this?
@m.walters4879

Tommy Petersen I know right! Larry is horrendous to listen to. I think it's more about him and that he knew Elvis. This is his claim to fame. And I'm not sure I trust anything he says. But I absolutely agree with you on Linda and Elvis could have helped himself. He got clean many times, for movies, concerts, and certainly for Aloha. Why is it so hard for his fans to just admit he had issues? The more dirt I discover, the more interested I become. He is was so incredibly intricate. Like the song say's "Love me, love the life I lead."

Misty Jacobs I'm alive!! Christmas is a really busy time in the special needs world so I've been working like my own private Elvis tour. No lie, tonight I worked with a young autistic man who asked to GI chill out in his room and listen His CDs. As I'm writing my log notes I hear " I'm caught in a trap" and then more Elvis stuff! The kid told me loves Elvis, showed me a slew of albums and then played em all night..he was not even born when Elvis passed! Weird no? And last night he watched " Elvis on Tour"! After all of your great posts, how cool is that!? Elvis didn't die, he just diversified. The magnitude of his influence is simply mind-numbing. Happy New Year from the "The big frozen Popsicle" (the artist formerly known as Toronto)

I never heard the story that Linda tell a about all of her lights go out in her apartment when she is packing to go back to Memphis when Elvis died . That gave me the chills . Omg...!! She is such a sweet , smart , and beautiful lady . I have heard several people say they wish Elvis would have stayed with Linda . He probably would still be alive today if she would have or could have stayed with him . I agree with that . But I understand where she was coming from . I just wonder though , if he had of been completely faithful to her and married her I wonder if that would have saved his life ? She might of could have kept him alive long enough until there was a Betty Ford clinic or some place that could have helped him realize that he really did need help . I know we will never know , but one can only dream of such a thing. Elvis was an amazing person and he is still loved all over the world by so many people . Thanks for sharing this interview with Linda Thomas.

Always have liked Linda. I truly believe she loved Elvis & did all she could for him, but just like Priscilla, she could only take so much. Elvis was wonderful in many ways, but he was a human with many faults & no one could make him "well" but himself. He was so lost & could never pull himself out of the mess he was in. He paid for that with his life much too early. I wish someone other than Ginger could've been there in the end. I don't like her at all.

@pen phillips Because he needed professionl help and a professional intervention like Liz Taylor got. There were no rehaps at that time. Many people can't just do it themselves or expect the wife or girfriend to do it when you were as bad as Elvis had gotten. B ame the doctors if you need to blame someone. Elvis was an addict.

Linda met him in July 0f 1972 after his last great performances at MSG. By January 1973 and A.F.H. he had fallen from the top of the mountain. I believe I know what was the thing the push him over, but by A.F.H. he started a slow slide into death. Linda was there for every bit of it and could not do anything about it. Like millions of other who have lost love ones that are addicted to drugs and alcohol. The difference is they were not the greatest entertainer of all times, they were not Elvis.

She seemed like a nice lady. She at least helped Elvis when he wasn't feeling well. But, why did he ask her if he was child like? Who cares, not me. I think it's no ones business like that. He can be if he wanted to. Nothing wrong with that. I mean, I've seen grown men act the SAME way. Maybe even more childish than Elvis. I think it's funny how they ask such stupid question when it's no ones business to ask that. If he wanted to, go for it. No harm in that at all. He wasn't hurt'n no body.

I was with a group of women friends about 15 years ago discussing this very thing but we didn't conclude anything definitively. I got more attention around that age than I myself could effectively handle, and so it made me uncomfortable for life because of it. Since so much of male behavior is driven by testosterone, I don't know if we'll ever find out for sure if there is a reason beyond hormones.

Of all the women Elvis had in his life and there were many , Elvis should have hang onto Linda . Linda made more sacrifices and knew the mans soul better than anybody and that includes Priscilla . Cilla was very very beautiful however she and Elvis were not a good match . Cilla was one women who was not going to play nurse maid to Elvis under any circumstances . She wanted her own life . Yet a wife should be all things to her husband . Friend , lover , sister , mother . You name it and likewise a husband she be the same to his wife . There are many times throughout life with your spouse that they need to step up and be different things depending on the situation , and that is true of both women and men with their partners in life . In my opinion Linda Thompson was one such lovely and committed lady . Still is to this day . She has never said an unkind word about anybody . She has been a great wife, a great mother , a great friend , a great supporter , a great carer. You name it , and I think Priscilla saw that too in her eventually which is probably why they have been photographed together with their arms around each's waist . I can not imagine Cilla with her arm around Ann Margaret's waist , or any other female who was part of Elvis's love life . No one can dislike Linda and neither does Cilla . However it says a great deal about Linda , not Priscilla .

Linda was 5 years older when she met Elvis. Priscilla was only 14 and when moved to Graceland she has ears and eyes hearing and see what was going on. But she was inlove and deep down hoping that when they get married it will change. sadly for her after awhile temptation took over. She was hurt and no matter what she did, he knew that he wronged her. Listen to his dad songs, it like he was forever apologising to her. At the end no coming back from where he was. it is soo wrong of us to accuse Priscilla. Even Anne Margaret herself threw herself at Elvis when Priscilla already there. I don't care what anyone think of say about Priscilla she was and will be remembered in history as the wife and produced the heir to his throne and legacy☮️

No excuses for the usage of loaded guns inside, and placing safety unavailable. Mr Presley was not that adorable baby placing risk into a prominent area with his family and friends. My respect pumpetted for him, I doubt I could ever retrieve it. So Mr Presley, I still like you. I just lost alot of that perseverance of respect. However,I doubt it really matters to anyone else but me, and that's alright mama, that's the way it is ment to be. I wonder how many would ever not have decided to "share memories" about their interactions with Elvis if he were still living. For so often, much of it is private infomation and should have remained so.

Oh no problem! Everyone got a right to their own opinion . But if he loved her with all his heart, why he still ended up with Priscilla , after all she was waiting on him at Graceland, and they had already formed a relationship, right? Okay we all know that he made a promise to her father, to marry her, but either way, I think he loved Priscilla as well. He and Ann M. only lasted a year. And to me, it was more lust, then love. Ann M. is very sexy and Elvis as well....but when it comes to down to the real thing, Priscilla was and always will be the right one for him. But I do like Linda Thompson as well. They made such beautiful couple, and I liker her as a person as well, and even now I do. But like i said, my opinion....
