Tomato catsup works great for removing build up from pots and pans. Just put a good coating of catsup on the bottom of the pan and let it sit for a couple of hours. It will dissolve the carbon and burned grease and the pan will wipe clean with very little scrubbing. It's non abrassive too, so great to use on copper bottoms. I keep cheap catsup on hand just for cleaning my cookware.

Au prix des citrons, je préfère les manger. Je nettoie mes casseroles brûlées avec du bicarbonate de soude ordinaire, ou même je fais tremper les casseroles ou les plats en verre encrassés dans de ľurine. Toutes les taches grasses collées se détachent. Ou encore, cuire des tomates nettoie complètement l'intérieur des casseroles. Il paraît aussi que frotter une casserole avec une poignée d'orties dissout les graisses, mais je n'ai jamais essayé, car je les transforme en soupe ou en sauce.
