I am in Zone 8a Durham, NC. Switching from iced coffee to iced matcha, start writing down what plants need to be moved due to the heat. (Maybe I need to start looking at cactus plants-LOL!!), nesting inside more and reading more. Each day, I talk to my plants outside and tell them to please hang on, autumn is coming.

Love the small espresso cups! It reminds me of a time when we were departing Florence, Italy by rail and stopped for a quick to go coffee at the train station. What a lovely surprise when we were served our coffees in tiny ceramic cups to slow down and enjoy like “civilized” people. Sending all the love. Strawberry tip* Save time and add nutrients/fiber by keeping the greens (they're edible). If they're too big/dense, I use the paring knife to divide them at the green point so they aren't too much to chew. If you don't like them in your parfait, then freeze the tops to add to your smoothie for a green boost. Love from Germany 🥬

I have a thing for trays, too, Linda 😊 And although my kids aren't quite as far away as Johnny is, after I've seen them I always get a little postpartum depression because I realize how much I really missed them and also that it will be a while before I can see them again. I also seem to remember that several years ago you mentioned in one of your videos that you always feel a bit sad around this time of year because it reminds you of when your mom passed, and I just want to say that I feel you and hope that it's that and nothing else at the moment 💚

Linda, I do some self care during the hottest part of summer. Foot masks and hand masks even face masks cool me off. A white wine spritzer with fruit cubes and lemon bars in the afternoon. Fresh flowers and poetry books. Spending time being grateful for the blessings in my home.

Our temperatures in Utah are “off the charts”‼️. Yesterday, my car temperature said 106°‼️. SO….i have been watching your Thanksgiving and Christmas decor videos from two years ago. Thoroughly enjoyed them, again AND I bought the glass ice cycles you featured AND the Terrain: Ideas and Inspiration book you used to decoupage your pumpkins (which I will do with my granddaughters 🤩). You will be so happy with this coffeemaker...I got one for a birthday gift from my dad which turned in to a domino effect...now my 2 sons , 1 sister-in-law and friend and my husbands work mate has got one too. We also take it on all our trips because we are never happy with the coffee makers in hotels and Airbnb's. Best coffee for our taste is the Melozio brew ...med. roast. So many to try though. Just a little tip to save some work - the frozen organic strawberries at Trader Joe's are delicious and taste like they have just been picked! They may be very hard when you put them in smoothies, but I haven't had any issues blending them.

Linda, I can relate to some of the feelings you are experiencing. My family is in NY and I live in Indiana. It would be hard to leave when we visited and then I would be feeling down for awhile after returning home. Now though last time visiting, I had a bad experience as my hometown has become more dangerous! I give it all to Jesus and will keep you in my prayers. You have lots of interests and seems like you enjoy life so don't stay down very long! When it is just too hot to be outside I like to study different types of plants, do some cooking, put a mask in my hair, straighten up the garage etc. Thanks you for your video and sharing your designer and creating talents!

Here in Kansas up to now our weather has been delightful! AND after last summer we needed it. We've had rain and the ponds in our area are all full. My garden is beautiful and has been easy to care for because we've had plenty of rain. But all things come to an end as did the rain and today it's supposed to get up to nearly 100*. So I'm sitting in the AC with a timer telling me when it's time to move my hose. Yes I love Greek yogurt, whatever fresh fruit I have like berries,peaches or pineapple, some pecans, honey and a sprinkle of ginger powder and cinnamon. It’s my fav breakfast! The ginger powder adds a pop of flavor! Also I keep nuts in the freezer which add a nice crunch. So healthy and delicious

Zone 6b West Michigan and got up to 88 today. But we had a nice breeze. I was glad because I was a host for a garden tour today for well over 200 people. How about doing some canning of special fruits or try an apricot chutney to give as holiday hostess gifts also I love my nespresso but the pods are so expensive so I found out how to refill them and seal them with special made coffee stickers I use lavazzo coffee it works out perfect and saves a ton of money

My friend who is a Ayurveda Health Practicioner recommends making a tea using equal parts Coriander, Cumin, and Fennel seeds because those are all cooling herbs. I also like Hibiscus tea. As well, I love KZbin Ambiance videos. I have playlist full of them. I particularly like the rainy day ones. Leaving them playing for when I come back in from garden or when I'm puttering about the house.

I adore Nespresso, and also have a William Sonoma espresso maker. Its just a simple way to make yourself or your guests feel special, any time of day! I have at least 3 or 4 cups of coffee and one or two espresso a day. And no, I do not get jitters or even feel it. Don't think for a moment I didn't notice the intentional tomatoes... 2 on the tray... one in the little saucer.. the amber glowing candle, and my favorite Windmill cookies! Fall colors are the most pleasing to me. Those umbers, ambers, merlots, mosses... yes, please! For the Nepresso... when it's hot.. make a cup.. add a couple spoons of Khalua... and pour over vanilla bean ice cream.. Affogatto! Oh how I wish I liked yogurt!!!! Its just to tangy for me. But I get a dulce de leche pudding cup and add the berries and granola. That Keto coconut cluster looks delicious!

I actually planned a little day trip to another town to do an antique mall (nice cool indoor walking) and lunch at a barbecue place my husband and I wanted to try. I also encourage others to do a day trip to their local library. Check out a lovely gardening or decorating book along with a fiction book. I live in the only desert in Canada the interior of British Columbia about 5 hrs inland from Vancouver … our weather right now is 40 to 45 degrees Celsius .. and it’s been for weeks now hard to keep our yards and gardens hydrated and I get the dog day afternoons not fit for man nor beast so inside waiting for a reprieve …nights are in the 20s so doesn’t cool much. 🥵🥵

Prayers for Linda and her family and friends. There is not much good news this week and along with the heat that is everywhere, we have such bad news this weekend. It seems too much to take at times. But my garden I go to in the morning when it's not too hot and love on the plants and the bees and dragonflies and the little lizard who rushed out as soon as he saw water on my patio and took his little hands and lifted some water to his little face and washed it! Zone 8b-Thank the earth that so far, I haven’t “had” to move any in the ground plants. Oh it’s HOT but not as bad as this time last year, so far! I have less shade due to neighboring trees lost to our Tornado in May that shaded each of my “side”gardens but so far, those plants are doing ok with additional watering.

Hi from Annie, you look nice in that striped dress, those things you showed in your kitchen are nice and coffer maker will be handy to have.What did you do in scotland do you have relatives there? Here in Aussie land has been hot as you know similar climate to yours at times. Keeping cool is better if there is lots of shade and big trees etc and pergolas etc That helps a lot and I use shade cloth to cover plants with as well.Early morning watering and jobs are best done before 9am. We have to pull heavy curtain up around the porch and shade cloth too both front and back and inside too. The need for lots of cool showers becomes a must do along with loose clothing like that stripped dress you had on.I like cold tea and coffee in summer with lots of snacks. I am conered to hear you are having some peronal troubles, hope you feel you can share your thoughts with us all when you are ready. Take care strong coffee is great in the summer is a good perky drink. Cheers😘

When you don’t have organic available,Put your strawberries into a bowl of water,add a tablespoon or two of vinegar. Let it set for about 15 mins. Rinse well,most pesticides are removed!

I have a volunteer dogwood tree that I am coveting, It unfortunately sprouted itself in the full sun, and it is now about 4 ft tall. I’m in zone 7a, temps are soaring and I am worried that it will succumb to “sudden death season” as it is an understory tree. I am reluctant to transplant it in this heat. I covered it with some cheesecloth to protect the plant but I’m asking for suggestions. Should I dig it up, pot it and put it in the shade and hope for the best or leave it rooted in the sun with the overhead protection?

I think I'd leave it under the protection until cooler weather.
