LINDEN NJ, middle-low class neighborhood.

LINDEN NJ sure has a lot of cool places and well maintained areas of people with a good living style. but this time we visited a zone where the economy is not great but neither is the worst. its just about at the middle. all houses look nice and comfy, except for a few ones that are being forgotten.

Linden isn’t poor . They are distressed area but the city of linden isn’t poor, Far from it. Sunny side Linden Is beautiful with well kept home. A number Hasidic are taking moving now. I praying 🙏🏾the neighborhood feeling stays. Hasidic don’t assimilate. Why are moving here ??

@@Phil-fw2ib The number of Hasidim in Linden is only going to increase. There is a lot of enthusiasm in the community for Linden, and the the rabbis at the top are encouraging the move too. The community is peaceful but the "vibe" of the neighborhood will change for sure.

i grew up in sunny side Linden in late 70's early 80's. Still pretty for a few blocks. Taxes are outragous. Over 10 grand a year. People who retired and houses are paid off are looking at 1,200 a month for taxes and insurance. They were forced to sell and move out. Linden HS was great back in the day. The reason my parents worked hard to move there from Elizabeth. I still have friends who live in sunnyside .No way they would send their kids to LHS now. Linden taxes back then were very reasonable. What happened over the decades? I heard it was because GM pulled out? IDK. When it was time for me to get married. It was during the bubble in the 80's we moved away to PA. Smart move. But still miss home when visiting. Have many childhood memories there, ice skating at the pond across from the HS, cheerleading with our orange and black uniforms Linden Tigers. We had Troy Stradford ( played for Miami Dolphins in the 80's ) to cheer for he graduated with us. Use to have halloween parades. Hanging out at curtis street park as a teen. Thanks for your tour

Hey, Karen, how is this a "poor" neighborhood, as you suggested in another comment? There are a ton of garages, vinyl fences, and very clean streets. Well-maintained vehicles, too. Are you equating multi-family units with poor?

Linden property taxes are way too high for those people that rent. Property owners as a result have high costs to rent their properties.

Linden is isn’t poor far from. Sunny side Linden bordering west side of clark and Rahway close to GSPKWY are beautiful. Most of long time resident form Linden and roselle are selling now , because of influx of Ultra orthodox Hasidic moving in. Local residents are concerned about it become the next Lakewood

Wrong! The public schools are no longer the best, like a couple of generations ago. But still a safe, clean town.
