The Medicis, the Borgias, the Roveres, the Sforzas, the Estes...so many famous Italian dynasties!
@Kenzalina_
@Kenzalina_ 6 ай бұрын
The Borgias were from the Kingdom of Valencia, which is in Spain, but wasn’t unified yet. Italy wasn’t unified either. It was a bunch of city states. Hence a lot of these names were enemies of each other. I would say that it’s fair to call them an Italian family, because Pope was based in Rome, and they were major players in the Italian renaissance.

@Rae-Annechu he could very well be. I was a little skeptical about him since Lindsay said she couldn't find which Medici family branch he came from. But it wasn't unheard of for royal or aristocratic men to sleep around and have a bunch of illegitimate children running around 🤔. So that's probably what happened with his ancestor lol 😅! Not to mention a possible genetic match with whatever bio material they picked up from previous ancestors if they did those open tomb investigations for whatever reason 🔎.

@@lisalking2476 I really would love to see a video on that subject. But as another commentor said in the grand scheme of things all bloodlines are ancient if you think about it. Out of all the people our ancestors beat out others in the gene pool and eventually created us. Though compared to your average family those of royal or aristocratic descent probably have very detailed written family trees they can trace back on. Though again I'm interested in the families that were famous on the world wide scale but have since died out with no remaining family members in existence.

The actual head of the family today is Giuliano de' Medici di Ottajano, 14th Prince of Ottajano. He is the great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great grandnephew of Pope Leo XI and inherited his position after his father Giovanni passed away in 2015. The Lorenzo in the video is probably his younger brother. Giuliano is 49, turning 50 this year and Lorenzo is likely 48, as I came across an article about him from late 2019 saying he was 44.
