This guy's son, George 2nd Duke of Buckingham was an "interesting" character at the court of Charles II, as part of the CABAL government he ironically represented puritan interests, though he was anything but. He married the daughter of Sir Thoma Fairfax, commander of the Parliament army in the Civil war. He features in John Dryden's poem "Absalom and Achitophel" as Zimri. He himself was a writer one of his works was the comic play "The Rehearsal".

Just a note: Ben Jonson wasn't "second" to Shakespare. Shakespeare was no 1 in public theatres for a broad audience, but Jonson was actually the most popular playwright with royalty and aristocrats for private plays.

Can I just inform you that a hereditary Knight is not minor royalty, but high gentry. Even the BBC get this wrong. I should jbow because my grandfather and uncle were baronets. Now my cousin in America is not taking the order of hereditary knights. People forget its a duty to an order. Not a privilege.
