Hi lindsay I keep my hook on the front but use a small size 10 or 12 as I find my local water the fish attack the snake from head on mostly the tigers . Iam not sure if doing this way makes a difference but it works for me . So my tail hook is bigger than the one on the front . But really enjoyed watching your method of tying a snake cheers . Kevin

Your welcome pal, I keep the hook on some of my snakes but it does change the movement of the fly👍

I would be taken outside and given a blindfold if I turned up on the river with this.

Very interesting. I believe it will work well in the west warm waters as well.

Hi Lindsay,, if you intend to keep the front hook, can I suggest you put a piece of high density foam on the hook while your working on the stinger it saves the fingers from getting jagged, if not just cut the hook at the bend, problem solved. It looks a deadly pattern, thanks for sharing. Cheers Jimf

Great tip with the foam pal, I will give it a go.

I use dental floss instead of braid. Make sure you leave a little slack between the floss and rabbit. I was told to tire from the rear hook forwards, which saves fingers from hook points

Good tip, the trouble with thinner connections is the tangles that ensue. I used to used Carp braid but it was hard work. 👍

What does the song say, I've seen everything now, but I ain't seen an elephant fly. Well maybe next week Lyndsay! In saying that I've got a similar monster in my big and ugly box and I'm not talking about my taste in wummin!
