I imagine he stands there remembering back to writing and playing it as a struggling young musician. Now he sands there as one of the greatest guitarists of all time and it shows in his confidence

And the song itself sounds like that, youthful & reminiscent. That’s why I like his songs so much, he just absorbs the atmosphere of the time he was in so vividly. And though that time is gone forever, it’s accessible and preserved via his music.

One of the most underrated guitarists ever. This is from the Buckingham-Nicks album. I remember it while in college in the '70s. Wow, how time flies.

My god this is gorgeous ... Wonder if hearing this touches Stevie the way it does me ? Despite all the bad blood between Lindsey and Stevie ... I truly believe he did love her ... To have someone compose something so beautiful ... And knowing I was his muse ... Timeless !

original version had Waddy Watchel, on acoustic, with Lindsay..it was 2 part acoustic guitar harmony, along, with a tasteful, synthesiser, as a fill...excellent! Waddy still plays with Stevie, on her solo tours, etc

I'm not sure their love was as strong as we'd like to believe. Stevie Nicks said her greatest love was Joe Walsh and there's reason to not believe her. She has no reason to lie and people don't forget their greatest love.

@@Melbelle-nl9vn that is not true at all. She has said she looks bed him very much but he had an anger problem and was very controlling. Being in love with someone like that is hard to take after many years of it. It has nothing to do with her not loving him.

I dont know this man personally but I have listened to him & Stevie N for more than 30 years, and I know that I love this man when he has a guitar in his hand! Absolutely beautiful. Someone composing and playing like this almost has to be a special person! Stevie is great, but Lindsey was the pedestal she stood upon. Period. Without him, I dont think we would have ever known her at all. Thats just mho. No haters please.

He cannot be just playing this just in open D or open E tuning - the really high notes can't be achieved surely? I'm sat here now playing it in both and you'd need a capo at, like, ninth or tenth fret! On the video of him on the chat show is open E but goodness knows how he's getting the high sounds here. If anyone can solve the mystery I'd be SO grateful!!
@senorchivo907 жыл бұрын
Open E with backing track for high notes (you can hear the count-in on the track at the beginning of the video). A 12-string could produce similar effects. So could an EQ + delay + harmonizer pedal in a second (stereo?) signal chain.
@rickalsept40426 жыл бұрын
He is using a back track for the high notes. Check out shut up and play guitar on KZbin and he covers this song with both guitar parts

Pretty sure he's playing with a recording of himself playing the higher part. Check my videos, there's a beautiful video of him playing it straight. I love both versions. He does love to get that full sound, and all the layers that are in the recorded versions, which is what he did here. Do check out the other video for comparison!

Folksinger, quelle imposture. Comédie.
