@susilinux die erste you do realize that using a name for an album doesn't necessarily imply that she is going against her religion? I'm not very religious but even I know that. Y'all really believe in that "if you're happy and you know it, it's a sin!" Mantra from the Simpsons 😬

It is so beautifully difficult to decide which part of this is the best. The chorus, the costumes, the filmlike beginning, the fact that the singing is done by a violin, the ending, when it fades back to black and white, it is all so beautifully done, it is all so high up the scale, this is art in one of the most beautiful ways possible and it is executed 100% on point.

I’d like to take a moment to say I’m just obsessed with the choreography. The character work is just incredible, particularly the way they play off each other and react to Lindsey’s attention, behaving differently and so expressively when they’re behind her compared to their perfect performative behavior when she throws those looks their way. Just adds so much and I keep finding myself rewatching to pick out every last subtle detail. Super impressed.

This song is BEAUTIFUL! The rhythms, beats, harmonies, the costumes, the story, the dance, everything, it is beautiful. It doesn't need lyrics.... but for a reason I imagine them like this: When the Lindsey starts playing : (0:36) I feel like in a mascarade Wearing a mask through the night to day Painted with a smiling face That is forced to stay o-o-on I feel like in a mascarade Wearing a mask through which I hide my face away I feel like in a mascarade Rushing through the waves Then when the girls dance around her in act 1: (1:22) Feel that the music is rushing towards me (1:27) Feel that I fall from the person I am and to which I can be (1:32) My feet are gliding and slowly running away (1:39)want to throw this mask so far away Its just an idea.

Verse 1: I sit here, staring at the sky, Wondering if you're looking too, And I can't help but wonder why, We can't go back to when we knew. Chorus: I wish he and I could go back in time, To when our love was young and kind, When the world was ours to explore, And our hearts were filled with so much more. Verse 2: We used to laugh, we used to play, And dream of all the things we'd do, But now your gone, have gone away, And I'm left with thoughts of you. Chorus: I wish he and I could go back in time, To when our love was young and kind, When the world was ours to explore, And our hearts were filled with so much more. Bridge: But time moves on, and I have changed, And sometimes love just fades away, But I still cherish memories of you, And the moments that we knew. Chorus: I wish he and I could go back in time, To when our love was young and kind, When the world was ours to explore, And our hearts were filled with so much more. Outro: So I'll hold on to these memories, And the love that we once shared, And know that in another life, Our hearts will be reunited and repaired.

Wow, that's completely different from what I used to feel about this piece of music. I thought it would be more sarcastic and desperate, a cry of the powerlessness of the individual when facing the world, having no choice but to conform... I guess that's why music is so great- it can be interpreted in various ways! (Lindsey's version is great as well!)
@SK-kh8xq3 жыл бұрын
I like your interpretation; I also felt there was a negative atmosphere surrounding the song. To me it sounded like the joyous and pained cry of some evil spirit, toying with and laughing at how humans refrain from expressing themselves for how they truly are, instead always putting on this ‘masquerade’, an insane situation that drives everyone, including the singing spirit, insane (not saying that is necessarily exactly how our society and everybody in it operates, its just the horror vibe and story I got from the music).
@insanitysplace3 жыл бұрын
If you read Issue 4 of the Artemis comic, in the first pages, this song is directly referenced as one the protagonist composes. She says the song is "about the masks we wear to try and fit in." I had always got the impression it had a dark undercurrent to it, myself. So I guess it all depends on how you respond to the music.

My favorite part is when the main theme is done at 50' and then at 1 minute10. You are able to mix inventive dance moves, like reinventing the era, mixing a code of appearance with original moves while the musical theme strenghens. This is exhilirating and pleasing, making us face unexpected content and enjoy it. Thank you for this creation and for asking us our opinion below! ( Unfortunately I can no longer reply to the "what's your favorite part" question, youtube has an error on that, maybe it expired so I make a new comment for it )
