Thank you for posting this video. You didn't ask: I think you are not only a good guitarist but also a good person.

Thank you so much, Frank. I really do try to be a good person but I don’t always succeed.

Good luck, call their office. You’ll probably get Lindy. Tell you want one like mine.
@david_rabinow2 жыл бұрын
Yea it’s a great configuration. It’s really hard to come up with sound you can’t do. I understand Lindy has noiseless steel poles. If there’s any problem with mine is that there is some noise. Of course, if you been playing strats for any amount of time you now how to handle the noise.

Great video, are any of these the Split Steele Pole 43 Fralins? This video sounds so good, I'm about to buy these, but then I stumbled across those split blades. There is an option however to have the split blade in the neck and middle, and have a split steel pole 43 in the bridge.. this video makes me want to put the split steel pole 43 in the bridge. Would you prefer the steel pool 43s? Or the split blades?
@david_rabinow Жыл бұрын
Yeah, Sean. They’re Steel Pole 43s in the neck and the bridge. Steel Pole 42 in the middle. That was Lindy’s recommendation. You can usually reach him at his shop. He’s really helpful.

I just got a set with a 43 bridge and the 42 in the middle and neck. I find them to be overly bright unless I turn the tone down to 3 or 4. Going to try a 250k pot for the volume and see if it helps.

Thanks Fin. They are amazing pickups. This guitar with the Fralin pickups has become my go to guitar. When I got this guitar in 2017 I I sanded the back of the neck to make it easier to play. Then I some liquid sandpaper to take some of the polyurethane gloss off the whole guitar. Now six years later it’s starting to show real signs of wear - an authentic relic - kinda

It seems you used to play with a band, or spent hours alone picking out those blues licks and runs 😊
@david_rabinow2 ай бұрын
I have played in bands in the past. Often groups of 5 or six guys (or women) who play together as 4 or 5 depending on the pay or availability. But nothing very serious.

Sounds great. I am looking at the same setup. Did you wire with 250k or 500k pots?

Lindy recommended 300K and I went along with that

@@david_rabinowinteresting. They used 500k pots for mine and it's ridiculously bright sounding.
@david_rabinow Жыл бұрын
@@GoDrex Funny, I wish mine was a little brighter. You know everything is done by hand so there’s bound to be some variation. Although I’m sure Lindy uses some sort of computer quality control.

Thank you for the demo. Can you tell me what tone cap do you use - 0.022mfd or 0.047mfd. Thank you in advance for the answer.

Lindy recommended ,022 so I went along with that. If you're gonna order from Lindy Fralin I strongly advise calling their number and talking to Lindy. He's very helpful,
@dukeravenshadow55322 ай бұрын
Such great tone. Just curious, what’s your wiring diagram look like?
@david_rabinow2 ай бұрын
I don't really know. Lindy Fralin did the wiring for me. It's pretty complex. There is a master volume and master tone. The third knob is a blender that adds the bridge pickup to whichever pickup position you're in. Lindy wired it so that it's noise cancelling when I have the 5 way switch in position 5 (Neck pickup) and the blender switch anywhere from 1 (Both pickups full) to 4 (full Neck and 60% bridge). The pot on the tone knob is a push pull. When pulled up it puts the bridge pickup out of phase. He used a 300K Volume Pot because the steel pole pickups are a little hotter.

@@david_rabinow Awesome, thank you. I’ll have to reach out to them when I’m ready to have one made, and make sure they set it up like yours.
