you're the man. this is just what I needed! the exact functionality I want to achieve when my 2 button footswitch comes tomorrow. when you click on looper mode with the external switch -- the effects your applying at the time remain? but the dials function as though the classic looper was selected? do I have that right? also cool accent dawg. ;)

From my own playing around the looper mode has its own delay but that can be overridden when you toggle off of looper mode, then the effect(s) / preset that you had on will be there again, as well as your loop. Yes, the dials do function as though the classic looper was selected. Have a play around when your footswitch arrives. Haha thanks! The New Zealand accents can be rather cringy sometimes ; )

The one I have I ended getting made near where I live because shipping things to NZ is expensive now days for something so small. When I was looking for dual foot switches I was looking at Mosky, Disaster Area Design, or Rock Stock. I found this one: www.amazon.com/Switch-Auxiliary-Guitar-Pedal-Footswitch/dp/B08PW5V8BB?th=1 But have a look around on Ebay or whatever the internet has to offer, the main thing is that it has a TRS jack.

I recommend using a non latching footswitch for this.

I had to make my own. Yeah, finding TRS cables that are the length of a small patch lead is almost impossible.

So does the tempo light not flash with the 4th button assigned to change to presets bank D, E, and F?

That is correct. It doesn't flash.

No, unfortunately not. You have to be out of looper mode for the tap tempo switch to work again. I feel this should be a thing for them to incorporate in future firmware.

Does It works with boss FS6…?

I'm not 100% sure. Theoretically it should work because the FS-6's middle jack for the use of pedals A and B supports a TRS / Stereo cable, which the DL4's expression jack needs.
