Asa_Sellers_Music that's what's great about the line 6 gear. You don't use a DI. It has XLR outs so you just run direct out of the Firehawk into the board/snake. I prefer to set sounds at home and then stand in front of the mains and tweak it once I'm at the venue. Sometimes it's too brittle or the reverbs are too hot, so I will edit it a bit more live, then let the sound man eq if needed to get a good blend FOH. But I always make my edits with the PA eq'd flat. I have also been using a compressor pedal in front of the firehawk since its always on (my personal preference) and free up one more slot for an additional delay on the firehawk.

Also, setting sounds with headphones is REALLY close to what you hear FOH, so that makes life really cool rehearsing at home.

Great multi-effect, but line 6 never fixed the lag problem. Live situation is unusable.

This board sounds best through a power speaker!..My opinion.Switching channels has a slight glitch.Spend time with it and set up all your stomps etc.I have one and the sounds are pretty good.But let's be serious here! It's not a Friedman amplifier.🤟

Call me old fashioned, but I like a layout more like the Boss ME80, I am beyond sick of digital menus. Every unit Ive had with digital menus never got used. I like to be able to see where I'm at at a simple glance without having to fumble thru settings and controls and memorize more crap. I've been in the market for a multi effects pedal for a while, and this isnt the one for me.

Great video! Explained more in 6 minutes than others do in 30! :) 1 question - how many user banks/patches can be made and stored on to the pedal? Hopefully I've worded that well, I can't seem to find any spec on how much memory it has for user based patches, only that it has 128 pre-loaded patches. Thanks :)

Mark Bramham you can have 128 patches across the 32 banks. You can delete and/or rewrite the premade-banks, like intend to do with it.

I didn't get 1 minute into the video. Can Line 6, Boss, or whoever please come up with some specific identifying term for a multi effects processor that does NOT have amp models in it. An amp is not an effect. Reverb, delay, chorus, harmonizer....those are effects. A JCM800 is an amp. A model of a JCM800 is an amp model, not an effect. ^$#$&

You can get a Helix FX that will only have the FX.

Instead of having a ton of sounds have 50% less sounds and make a better quality? Hard to control when switiching sounds, tends to lag behind slightly? the sounds are very similar, and way too many that are the same sound, and some sounds are so bizarre, they are useless to even use or care about. A well built machine and has some nice faeture, but it tries to hard to being all things to all people and disappoints.

The presets that come in the unit itself are designed to be a guideline to show you what it's capable of. If you write your own presets you will find that it has a WIDE array of sounds and possibilities in it. Also, with units such as this one that are so high fidelity with their modeling, if you are experiencing all your sounds sounding similar, you could either be limited by your amp's tone if you're using it with an amp,. or you could be using presets that all have the same amp model and cab model built in them. There are a LOT of parameters in this thing that you can adjust.

Four months in and my Line 6 Firehawk has become a paper weight. I'm soryy, but I have to sied with the Analog crowd if only because the volume leveling is massively inconsistent throughout the device, you cannot scroll through the effects seemlessly without major variations in volume. What's more--if you don't own an IPad, what's the point? The ap is far too complex to navigate poperly on a phone. Moreover, there has to be a easier way to scroll through the effects than runing up & down and across multiple banks. That said, these are issues I have always had with Line 6 I can't believe they haven't addressed them yet. I will not make the mistake of purchasing a Line 6 product again. Thankfully it only cost me 400 bucks that hopefully I can recoup most of that by selling the damn thing. All things consider, it's my opinion that all the video reviews on the Line 6 Firehawk have been doctored.
