I always have the same comment, but I really mean it, your videos are great and one of the best ways to learn how to use Helix (Steve Vai is still around but none of the things he releases these days equates Passion and Warfare IMHO, I loved the 25 years anniversary tour he did a few years ago where he played the entire album)

That Cosmos Echo with the ramp a ten makes me think about those whales sound in Pink Floyd's Echoes

Awesome video, Jason! Really enjoyed watching it, and I feel like you make a lot of things in Helix more approachable. Instead of just twisting knobs, it's good to have some knowledge as well. Kudos! 👍🏼

Another really good video Jason!!! All these videos have a lot to offer not just with Helix but how to create great effects and tone with any Amp. Have you thought about a video on creating harmonies?
@JasonSadites6 жыл бұрын
+tommyboyh93 thanks so much! I will try and cover harmonies when I get to some of the pitch shifting effects and will also cover that in future guitar lesson videos...Thanks for watching :-)

Great job as usual. My old HD500x had a smart harmony effect that, as memory serves, didn't delay the shifted notes. I wonder if the Helix Harmony Delay is intended to do that if you set the delay to zero or nearly zero milliseconds. Or perhaps there is another effect intended for that ( say you wanted to improvise some lead lines with the Helix matching your notes with others a third above, but not delayed )

Thank so much :-) And yes Helix has dedicated Harmonizer FX for that also.

Conceptual Question - The delays have their own low cut/high cut sliders. How do you think about that in terms of the entire signal chain where you may be doing low cut/high cut in others blocks. Sort of like when you discussed where to do EQ for "finishing at the end" vs. other parts of building the tone? Hope that makes sense.
@JasonSadites6 жыл бұрын
+Larry Good good question...the hi/low cut parameters in a delay will only change the sound of the repeats of the delay so it won't have any affect on your main tone, just the echoed repeats. Does that make sense? Hope I explained that alright and that is what you were asking :-)

Thanks - You cleared that up for me !

is it possible to hit one button in stomp box and have two blocks turn on?
@JasonSadites6 жыл бұрын
Hi Gary, it sure is :-) Make sure you have the capacitive touch turned on for your footswitches. Select the first block you want to control with the footswitch and touch the switch you want to assign it to. Then hit OK. Do the same thing for the other blocks you want assigned to that swtich. You can also do this from HX Edit software with the Controller Assign tab.
