The Bob Ross of Helix demos. “Maybe you want a little feedback over here….just some happy little feedback where you like it.” Good stuff Jason.

Awesome deep dive into a fantastic new addition to the lineup of Effects available on Line 6 Helix Modelers! It lookes like they've added a level of control and features not available on the original that inspired the Feedbacker. I think adding "Expanded Parameters" is a really smart thing to do, and hope it becomes the new standard of how Line 6 Helix approachs Parameters on the Blocks. Of course we want what the original gear has, but software based models offer creative opportunities to get much more than the originals provided. Thanks so much for putting in the time to help us get the most from these new Effects, Amps, Cabs, and features. Absolutely stunning! 👏😎

I've been using the Digitech FreQout for years now. (I practically cannot play without it!) I plug my guitar into it, then into the POD Go (or whatever device I'm using). I've also plugged it directly into my Focusrite interface and used Amp Sim plugins and it works great. It'll be interesting to see what kind of results this device brings to the modelling world.

I was the same, couldn't live without my FreQout, until I installed a Sustainiac, so much better is I can hold a note for eternity

So many possibilities with other controllers like the expression pedal. Or you could put this on a LEAD tone snapshot as an automatic effect.

@SZUKI807 ай бұрын
Is there a way to use it as sustainac? For instance you play one note that feedbacks and you play over it without feedbacker

To me the sound produced is similar to an ebow. Amazing how they just put this in digital form. I imagine if you assign an exp pedal on this you can make violin-ish sounds..

I have a question on the use of this effect, Jason. I use one preset per song with up to four snapshots in each. Suppose I have a lead snapshot, but I want the feedback to precede the lead. What would I have to do to accomplish that? Thank you!
@jcmoore5819 Жыл бұрын
Set your top row foot switches to be your snapshots and put the bottom row as pedals you can turn on and off! Set the feedbacker to one switch and boom!
@danielkleiner9560 Жыл бұрын
@@jcmoore5819 I can’t do that. The top row is presets so that I can walk through them, song to song.
@BryceDriesenga Жыл бұрын
You mean carry through into the lead? You can add the feedbacker to your preset, then engage it in the snap before your lead. Change the pedal setting to carry on/off state through snapshot changes and it should carry over
@JavierMartinez-sd5lv Жыл бұрын
I just updated this shit and now my expression pedals are not responding, I don't know if anyone else has the same thing.

How can we control the actual VOLUME of the feedback?? It would seem a bit too loud in IEMS. My guitar volume is great, but when feedback hits, it is very present and loud

@dreadnotpop Жыл бұрын
How can we dial it in for infinite feedback?
@BryceDriesenga Жыл бұрын
Poly sustain after could do it
@dreadnotpop Жыл бұрын
I’ll try it but it’s got that dedicated decrease setting with a max of only 6 seconds. There might not be enough signal left. I hope they fix this in an update. The Freqout does not have this limitation.
@BryceDriesenga Жыл бұрын
@@dreadnotpopAh hmm, yeah, when I use the poly sustain for other sounds, I set it so whatever note or sound I'm making, I can just tap real quick to activate it and it'll hold the current sound/note indefinitely. But would be cool if the Feedbacker could hold infinitely for sure

My feedbacker is greyed out ?
@JasonSadites Жыл бұрын
That means you are over the DSP limit. You will either need to remove other block to free up DSP or move something a different path. Hope that helps :-)
@rkharper Жыл бұрын
It definitely is DSP hungry. Mine didn't show up on my HX Stomp at first, because I tried to implement it in a premade preset. Only on HX Edit I sae it greyed out, and then I understood.

I'm wondering Jason, have you found a way to create a momentary foot switch with the Morningstar MIDI controllers?
@nyeehah Жыл бұрын
Yes, you can do that. I used to own one and remembered it was an option in the editor software. Look up a tutorial on the software
@Shadowcruise999 ай бұрын
I thought I'd made a followup to my original post, but evidently not, @@nyeehah. By using a "Press" & Release on the Morningstar MIDI controller with the respective CC# for the appropriate Helix footswitch, a value of 64 & Up will engage the effect and a release value of 63 and Below will disengage the effect provided the footswitch type on the Helix is set to "Latching".
