Great to see someone giving digital effects love. I've been playing a modelling amp for a few years now and absolutely love it. For some of us, we don't have the budget to get tube amps and all that expensive gear, so it's nice being able to drop 200-300 dollars into a nice amp and coming out with a wide selection of digital effects to craft tone with. Great playing BTW. I love your Strat tones in videos, you make them sound brilliant.

Whilst researching the Orange CR120H, I stumbled upon your videos a few days ago, Dave. Your playing, feel, tone, vibrato & passion is amazing. I'm not much of a Blues guy, but I could listen to you play all day. And, you're a comedian, too, which is a nice bonus! :-) So, I have 100% decided on getting an Orange CR120H to replace my old Randalls. The tones from that thing - from full on Death Metal, to Jazz, Blues & country are all stunning. Your vids & endorsement certainly played a factor in my decision. Keep up the great playing, good Sir!!

After having the M5 for few months and thinking how good the FX sound I’ve just picked up a used M13 in good condition for £50 on EBay and love it, gives me all fx I’ll ever need, I don’t need cab and amp sims so this is ideal for me, looper and tuner best £50 I’ve spent! The modulations snd delays sound excellent to me, reverbs are great, filter and synth FX great as well, I’m glad you said you thought the Drive/Distortion/Fuzzes so decent to you cos I feel the same and they all totally work for me, I don’t get what people want, expect and are looking for when they say it’s the weakest section and n the M13, I’m happy enough with them cos I can’t be arsed paying £100’s for one drive or fuzz pedal when there’s very little difference and not really noticeable, this will totally do me cos I’m not gonna spend £300 and wait on a 4yr list for something like a King of Tone or spend £1000’s on a Klon!! Reckon the £50 spent on M13 and the amount of types of FX, looper & tuner is a bargain and will work for me and I don’t care if it’s considered big, old hat, the FX all sound lush and excellent and not many people would notice much difference in FX quality between M13 or Helix, I notice the cash saved in my pocket though.

You made me buy this, I am very much a pedal board snob and you made me go to the evil world of multi effects.....I bloody love the pedal haha. Will still keep the big board but for plug in and play it's bloody awesome 👌
@flyguyty332 жыл бұрын
I had this pedal (m13) and I thought the grass would be greener with all single effects (ds2, wh10, fm4, etc.) and honestly, the m13 is so simple yet so multi-versatile that I have switched back to it. I’ll still keep the single effects but love the simplicity of m13. I did decide to keep my ds2 on the m13 board along with a boost and fuzz. I just use the m13 for the effects. 🤘

I got one early this year! It's really exactly what it calls itself; stompbox modeller... Quite unlike the usual multi fx. I adore it's versatility, very freeing sorta format, it's subtlety and fine detail, and it seems very unobtrusive to the signal, very little dent. Craziest set-up I myself have ever used, being a guy who has used much the same kind of rig for over 30 years. Hope you still extract joy from yours!

I just got an M13 used in great on eBay for a bargain price of £55!! I chanced it and offered a really cheeky bud, Stunned when was accepted, had a few weeks and loving it for the all round FX, every effect I’ll ever need and all sound great, clean. warm, depth, character and timbre of each effect all sounds lovely to me, I’m happy with the drives and distortions as well and have dialled in plenty big, meaty, cracking sounding drives that totally work for in my setup and band, I’ve read so many comments of people saying the drives & distortions sound weak and poor compared to individual pedals, for me that’s not the case and I dialled in plenty of great drives, you get plenty of drive, fuzz, distortion type pedals in it don’t think I’ll really need anymore. Delays, Reverbs, Filters are excellent and the modulations are perfect, warm, colourful, crisp, movement and lots of depth I think the sound fantastic. For my £55 I’m well happy and buzzing cos you’d be able to buy 2 or 3 individual budget pedals for the price I paid for my M13 so I’m definitely a winner with 100 different high quality effect types. So easy to edit parameters and love that it remembers the last effect setup, also my main reason for getting M13 is cos I just wanted effects and didn’t want loads of Amps & Cabs. Also the addition of a Tuner and a Looper is an even bigger bonus. So all n all I’m lovin my M13 can’t fault it, it does everything I need from it and more live and recording, the little time I have had chance to record a few tracks with it since getting I’ve gotta say that the M13 has added more dimension & character to my recordings/mixes than previous recordings when I’ve used many other pedalboards, pedals, DAW’s App’s with built in guitar effects like Logic, Cubase, GarageBand etc. The M13 has just added something really lovely sounding than anything before and has taken the guitars sounds to a next level.

Thinking about selling all my pedals and getting an all-in 1 multieffects. What you’ll you recommend that could emulate John’s pedalboard? Zoom? Also, will it have those line6 type sounds (TAYTV) and Dani Autowah/LPF sounds. I think you said a wah preset is close to the WH10? I’m sick of the faff of the WH10 - volume jump isn’t too bad but can’t deal w tone suck.

Just wanted to clarify - it’s the Line6 Helix HX - with 8 switches? Also, what do you recommend expression pedal-wise to get close as poss to the WH10?

Bloody hell Dave - your playing is always good but .... wow.... here, you just about blew my bloody head off. Just got my greasy mitts on an M13 (well, pick it up next week) - bought a job lot of gear from a studio that's getting shot of a bunch of stuff. This video has given me great confidence that the Line6 (a brand I don't normally pursue) board will be a very useful bit of kit. Bless you man. Play, exposit, enjoy. Dont let the algorithm get you down. Massive love from the New Forest, Sonic Brother

- it exceeded my every expectation. And Dave is correct - nothing lacking in the very sensible drive library on offer. Nothing lacking at all. In fact, the Tubescreamer model is functionally one of my favourite TS pedals in my studio... (lots of control parameters, ie, more than 3 knobs)
