That was a fantastic test, proving that with a bit of work and patience you can have a very very similar sound to the "real thing". With the levels at 5, I can barely hear any difference, but when pushed to 10, I do hear a little brigther sound with the 808, and a little more volume. Or at least that's what I hear. You can hear it at 3:10.

Yes, some differences are evident as you pointed out :)

I bought a BOSS RV6 as an external pedal so I can have more DSP on my pod go. I hope you can try a Morning Glory on the POD Go, and check if stacking drive would sound good.

If I can find a cheap Morning Glory I will :) I love the drive stacking idea. It's on my video To Do list now :)

Thanks Josh. A useful comparison. They sounded really close, to the point where I wouldn't be able to tell which is which. Would you be able to do something similar with a compressor (Red Squeeze / Dyna Comp)? Thanks again.

Great suggestion. If I find a cheap Dyna Comp I certainly will :) Or, I can just use the compressor I have and compare those 🤔

Question: are the FX in different POD or Line 6 models the "same" ? As in, this test applies to all POD / Line 6 ?
@JamesFlorio-ti8gc27 күн бұрын
All Line 6 are the same sound.....only exception is pod go and stomp don't have a normal 3 prong cord for power....so a bit more noise can sneak in making you use a bit more gate

The POD Go, Helix, HX Effects, HX Stomp, and POD Express all use the same HX family of effects. However, the smaller the unit the less DSP processing power. Hence, not all of those device have the same number of effects due to DSP processing capability.

I don't mind only having one drive, but hate having to choose between an extra chorus pedal or the looper because I haven't got enough blocks.

In my experience with the real pedals the 808 is more open sounding than the ts9 which has more mids. The 808 screamer on the pod go sounds more like a ts9 to me. As a result they sound the same

They definitely sounded pretty close to me.

Can i use my me 80 and pod go together ill use the me 80 as a fx loop but i don't know how
@JoshGordonGuitar27 күн бұрын
Interesting question 🤔 I guess you could try connecting the Send from the POD Go to the ME 80's input and the ME80's output into the POD Go's Return.

I use a real T9 on the effects loop with the only purpose of having more free blocks on my Pod Go. Though I've noticed that the noise gate isn't that effective when engaging the external effects loop.
@JoshGordonGuitar27 күн бұрын
Absolutely. The noise gate on the PG didn't seem to do much on the Mono FX Loop block.
