I just played a show with this live, but with a different setup. Pod Go>power amp>cab. The sound guy did his job just as if I was using a normal amp, no issues. All bands played through Darkest Hour’s EVH cabs and all we did was move one cable from band to band. One of the fastest, cleanest shows and everyone sounded great.

I've had my Pod Go for about a year and some months, and just now have I circled back to it after watching videos on how to do certain things with it. This board takes just a little time to get used to how to control everything, but once you sort it all out I think it's one of the best multi-fx units you can get for the money. The Line6 community is MASSIVE, they have hundreds of free presets and IR's available on their forums or for sale through Line6. . Outside of getting a NeuralDSP QuadCortex, I have to say this is the next best thing nearly imo..

I appreciate the review. The one area where you rate the Go lower is the lack of XLR's. Well, this unit is only $450 vs the Helix LT which is $1200 or the Helix which is $1600. There you get XLR's. I had the Helix, but it was way more than I needed. The Pod Go is also more than I need, but selling the Helix for the Go gave me lots of money back. I don't miss the XLR's or unlimited spaces to place double cabs, amps and fx. Pod Go is great for the money.

So I've had mine for 2 years: I have learned a ton... note, I'm a long time Dsp based tone guy from the late 80s... specifically, the original Rocktron Chameleon... yes I still have it... needs an output ic😂... I digress😊 the PODGO is a gamechanger... affordable, and very "realistic" ( I mean, tone is relative, bad tone is poodoo). And I confess to owning several previous incarnations of the POD, the Hd500x, and the XT LIVE, in well over 500 shows as a coverband guy... they have been, for the most part, bulletproof, but not indestructible. My PODGO, not upgraded to the latest because of a sync issue that "froze it"... once burned, never again... has all of the options a full 12 space rack contains. WARNING: since it has only 1 sparc chip, it's dsp power is limited... note: efx/preamps etc, are limited by the specific effects dsp usage, no different than a slightly underpowered ie: student laptop. The biggest offenders are convolution reverb, some of the more esoteric overdrive, pitch, and other modulation efx, so... pick wisely... the basic offerings, L6 branded, sound pretty good... Now I love reverb, flanger, tape delay... so how to save dsp? Use the stereo loop, assignable any where in the chain to offload the reverb to a dedicated device... In my case, I use a flamma ekoverb... cheap, cool, and reverb hold, yes!!! I put it last in the chain... I really works well... My chain: Charvelle San Dimas, Bad Horsie, JB Jr volume pedal, PODGO : Tilt / 808 / Trainwreck / Loop* / V30 Black / output Stereo > Tubeworks MosValve 962 ( i have a spare as well) > 2 ea custom sealed 1x12 w/ Texas Heat : also the option to add 2 ea LOPO slant front 2x12 for bigger venues... scalable, and portable. All of it resides on a 32" pedal train system... ❤

I am new to the multi-effect world. Using the POD GO with BOSS Katana-50 MKII (through power amp in). Soundwise I love it. I have a handful of IRs that I utilized to create some good user presets. I don't use the stock presets at all currently. I play in a band, but have yet to gig with it (rehearsal only). The issues I have had during rehearsal are: one time, I switched to a preset and played through a song, and when we were about to rehearse the song again, I had no sound and had to switch out of the preset and back to it for it to work again. This issue scares me the most, and I have not been able to find mention of it in any forums. I have the updated firmware. Another time, the bass in the room shook the plug out of the wall during a song. The 20 seconds it took to power back up felt like forever. The plug is very flimsy and top heavy - standard power adapter. I will be using a dedicated extension cord to keep the plug off any walls from now on.

Question for you Max. How would you use one of these with an amp? I know you could turn off the amp and cab sims but if I wanted to download a nice patch from the Line 6 site, it wouldn't sound right through my amp because it would already have the amp/cab set. If I turned them off to play through my amp, I would lose the correct patch sound. Does that make sense? Any decent workaround you can think of?

@MaxSoloMusic Жыл бұрын
Vlad from CatPick Studios mentioned that problem in his video. Although, I have a feeling the phrasing was misleading. One shall indeed expect higher latency due to an additional pair of AD/DA converters, which may result in a more 'plastic' feel. It should not alter the tone in the process though. At least as long as correct impedance is set for all inputs. Line6 devices of that class traditionally have really good converters
