Oh yeah! I have a pair of these guys. Incredible mics. I would say that the CM4 sounds great on you, but that's true of every mic. Good to see this video!

Sounding good on every mic is my curse in life. The albatross around my neck. My personal hairshirt. So yeah, it's probably not very indicative of how this mic sounds. However, if memory serves, it sounded pretty darned good on you, too. So, it's either a really good mic or just a good mic on us alone. I'm still not ruling out the latter.

It's a great little mic! I have a pair I've used for choral recordings, and they are excellent for the task.

I used a pair of these in X-Y config for recording a live rock show. Excellent. By the way I bought one first, before realising I wanted a pair. I was told that all CM4s are built ‘matched’…i.e. any two singles you buy are automatically a matched pair!!!

Sounds quite good. On an unrelated note, have you tested the new Dachman Audio 87SE? (cardioid only version) I'm curious how it stands up to other 87 variants, and for $499, sounds like a steal

I have not had the pleasure. Dachman was using 3u Audio capsules they had branded as their own, so that’s a good sign.
