INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 9.7.24 | 4:14 PM
LOCATION: Hwy 330
AREA/CITY: Running Springs
DETAILS:
The Line fires impact on the mountain communities is now imminent.
The fire has responded to extreme heat, unstable atmospheric conditions, turbulent wind, and now is creating its own weather with massive pyrocumulonumbus smoke column producing powerful inflow / out flow winds, thunder, down strike lighting, rain, and hail.
The massive 100 ft flames responded to all of the above conditions and is now displaying extreme fire behavior resembling the conditions that were seen in 2003 during the legendary and tragic ” Old Fire”
The fire is now making a massive run towards running springs, arrowbear, green valley lake, and even cedar glen as the constantly collapsing smoke column blows the fire in all directions.
thousands are evacuating starting all the way to east side of lake arrowhead.
Thousands of Mountain residents are stuck in gridlock traffic trying to evacuate.
The massive smoke column that was making its own weather caused about a 1 hour long heavy rain fall seemed to play a strong factor in slowing the rate of spread.
The entire highway 330 corridor and surrounding canyon from at least city creek fires service station has been burned from top to bottom. all that is left is multiple rock slides, downed power lines and nothing by skeletons of what once was green vegetation.

My understanding is that the State of California stopped or vastly reduced spending on forestry upkeep mitigation efforts years ago. The result was overgrown fire roads and vast overgrowth. This had to affect things and cause a trickle down that influenced the insurance rates and problems.

To the arm chair fire battalion chiefs out there with the negative comments, you haven't got a clue what you are talking about. Don't be critical. If you think you could do better, go ahead and call the shots, put on the gear and get out and fight the fire yourselves. You wouldn't last 5 seconds under the stress.

Why yes. I could do better. With my fucking eyes closed. It's not the firefighters, but the politicians tying their hands. Once republicans were out of office here, efforts to clear beetle kill trees were suspended. If you listen closely to the firemen, you notice that the firebreaks created in the 60's and 70's have not been maintained. This means that the only place to fight fires is on major roads and ridges nearer to structures than would have been in the past, with only 1 opportunity to get it right. Only things saving us: the increase in night vision, aerial fire fighting, drones, better satellite data etc. Stupid state, stupid results.

Creating a sophisticated dispensing system that can effectively deploy a gel-forming solution over a fire zone involves integrating two key components: the formulation of the gel-like substance and a delivery mechanism that ensures rapid and precise deployment. Here’s how we can design such a system: ### Formulation of Gel-like Fire Suppression Substance: #### Ingredients (Enhanced with Graphene): 1. **Surfactants**: Mild surfactants suitable for foaming and stability. 2. **Thickeners/Gelling Agents**: Ingredients that rapidly form a gel, enhanced with graphene for improved heat resistance and strength. Options include: - **Bentonite Clay**: Provides rapid gel formation and is fire-resistant. - **Guar Gum**: Natural thickener that enhances viscosity and stability. - **Carbomer**: Synthetic polymer for creating a gel-like texture. - **Graphene**: Added for its thermal conductivity and fire-resistant properties. 3. **Water**: Primary solvent. 4. **Fire Retardants**: Active ingredients like ammonium phosphate or potassium carbonate to suppress combustion. 5. **Preservatives**: Maintains stability. 6. **Optional Additives**: Fragrance or colorants. ### Design of Dispensing System: #### Components: 1. **Dual Chamber Cartridge**: - Divided into two chambers to separately store the components of the gel-forming solution. - One chamber holds the surfactants, thickeners, fire retardants, and water. - The other chamber stores a graphene-enhanced component or activator. 2. **Mixing and Dispensing Mechanism**: - **Mechanical Mixing**: As the cartridge is deployed, a mechanical system (e.g., a piston or mixing blade) ensures that the contents of both chambers are mixed thoroughly before dispensing. - **Activation**: Incorporate a mechanism that activates the mixing process upon deployment, ensuring rapid and homogeneous mixing of the gel components. 3. **Deployment System**: - **Spray Nozzle or Sprinkler System**: Depending on the application, a spray nozzle or a sprinkler system can be designed to disperse the gel over the fire zone and the surrounding area. - **Pressure System**: Utilize a pressure system to ensure sufficient force for dispensing the gel at the desired range and coverage. 4. **Control and Monitoring**: - **Remote Activation**: Include remote activation capabilities for deployment in hazardous areas. - **Monitoring Sensors**: Integrate sensors to monitor the effectiveness of gel dispersion and fire suppression. ### Operational Steps: 1. **Deployment Preparation**: Ensure the cartridge is loaded and ready for deployment in firefighting equipment. 2. **Activation**: Upon activation (manually or remotely), the mixing mechanism initiates, blending the gel-forming substances and graphene. 3. **Deployment**: The mixed gel is dispensed through the spray nozzle or sprinkler system, covering the fire zone and the area ahead of the fire to prevent its spread. 4. **Monitoring and Adjustment**: Continuously monitor the effectiveness of gel deployment and adjust as necessary to contain and extinguish the fire. By integrating advanced materials like graphene into the gel formulation and designing a precise dispensing system, this solution aims to enhance firefighting capabilities, offering rapid and effective fire suppression in critical situations.

It should be pretty easy to figure out. It was 800 feet from a fire station on Base Line. There's either a burned out car, nearby construction, someone on the trail or driving by. I imagine the fire station or neighbors have security cameras. News reporters are just giving shock value and climate change propaganda, but no information or interviews that people should demand.

According to the EPA, "Wildfires release carbon dioxide emissions and other greenhouse gases that contribute to climate change." So why is the EPA permitting the build of green energy power plants that have been determined to be a "potential trigger for wildfire" without having the means to extinguish the wildfire it will trigger? No water source on site or nearby. No EIR required.
@hibob841
@hibob841 2 ай бұрын
I don't know what a "green energy power plant" is (solar? Wind? Geothermal? Tidal? Hydro?) but can you cite an instance of one starting a major wildfire? Also, does it really matter when there are over 30,000 miles of transmission lines (in California alone), some of them a century old, that have already touched off several of the worst fires in our history and present a constant threat? The supposed fire risk of "Green energy power plants" seems like a weird straw to grasp at, almost like you're being deliberately (mis)-informed by interests that would prefer we keep burning fossil fuels forever. But that would be crazy.

@@boblandwehr8222 Like I said, the real problem is the thousands of miles of ancient transmission lines that run right through remote tinderbox forests, and have already touched off many bad fires. I don't believe photovoltaic cells are any particular fire risk, being mostly silicon. The risk from the batteries can be mitigated (say, by using the 600 acres of solar panels as a buffer). As far as the disadvantaged community, I can think of far worse neighbors than a solar farm...rather inert, really.

Yes, I have driven by controlled burns here, but even if they did it very often, the state is huge and it is easy for a conrolled burn to become out of control. With more people, there are more buildings and more risk. You are definitely right about them wasting money in countless ways. Our roads suck, yet we pay more fuel tax than other states. They would rather give money to those who don't belong here or put it in their pet projects or pockets than improve the state.

The tankers are trying to save the communication, emergency services, repeating stations, weather and cell towers on top of Santiago peak in Corona. Looks like we are about to lose them as the data center buildings have started to ignite and fire crews that were up there have fully retreating and fire is burning over the phosphorus that the qrf and tankers have been dropping all night and most of today to prevent the loss of those critical infrastructures and prevent it from cresting over into Corona and Lake Elsinore

@@Cassie-pt7mt they are deployed in the PNW in Oregon and Idaho as they have much bigger and numerous fires than us. New Zealand rural fire service loaned us 1 plane but currently been diverted from the line fire and doing dual drops for the airport and bridge fires as per watch duty air attack tracking feature

Water is hardly going to do anything with these flames and temps. The water would most likely evaporate way before hitting fire or ground. There's a lot of fuel out there. Some of the best things you can do is cut line and controlled burns. Take fuel away from the fire.

As someone who lives very close to the fire and 330. It hasn’t jumped the freeway yet. Maybe further up north but not here where it matters closer to the casino and Indian reservation.

Why arent they using big tankers to put it out only 5% contained doesnt look like theyre doing much just watching it burn who started this ishh

I don't think you understand the magnitude of this, the low humidity, heat and very steep terrain. A huge C130 has 3000 gallons, it helps but isn't just going to the fire out.

Fire Analysts already had a model of this exact fire before it happened. They knew it had the potential with all the excess fuels, dead trees from bark beetles that weren't removed and steep terrain.

@sikiescordova1826 this fire started 1000 feet from a fire station. Large scale resources were likely not quick enough, and a small fire gets out of hand very quickly under these conditions.
