I like very much your posts - especially those in English 😀and those with the video drone-assisted commentary. Good job!! Personally I am not a huge fan of the locking turns. By definition, they... "lock" 🙂. And they might lock under pressure if there is a huge tension on the mooring line. Even if the way you do it is the better way, with only one lock at the end, I personally use the OXO method. Not bulkier than your way, guaranteed to release under any tension and only lock the end if leaving the boat for longer or really strong winds. Never saw a cleat that cannot acomodate two oxo lines. But as we know, there is only a matter a preference. As long as it works... it works! Keep the videos coming, please! 👍

Καλησπερα καπετανιε, εγω προσωπικα κανω στην μια ακρη μια καντηλιτσα την οποια περναω αναμεσα απο την βαση του κοτσανελου (εαν υπαρχει χωρος, αλλιως κανονικα) και με την αλλη ακρη του σκηνιου κανω αυτο το δεσιμο που μας δειχνεις εδω. Ειναι οκ αυτο που κανω ή αυτο που βλεπουμε στο video ειναι ποιο ασφαλες ?

Καλησπέρα! Αυτό που περιγράφετε το κάνουμε μονάχα στα ημερόπλοια που έχουν στάνταρ θέσεις και δεσίματα και τα σχοινιά μένουν στα κοτσανελα συνέχεια. Γενικά το αποφεύγουμε όμως γιατί αν σου κολλήσει για κάποιο λόγο το σχοινί σον κρίκο ή στην πίντα δε θα μπορείς το απελευθερώσεις από την κοντή πλευρά ειδικά όταν είναι υπό τάση, καθώς η καντηλιτσα δε λύνει υπό τάση και άμα έχει κοκαλώσει απ το αλάτι δε λύνει ούτε και χωρίς τάση

Can I ask why in Greece most people prefer to use cleet hitch rather than XOX? Also, do you consider it a mistake to have bowline on the bottom part of the cleet and then tie a hitch with the part of the rope that gets thrown back to you?

Cleat hitch works better for the way of docking we use in Greece. Slip lines, med Mooring etc. About the bowling at the cleat I see only trouble and no benefits when you do it, so for me is 100% wrong
