My grandpa was a medic with capt.s rank in the USAs 508 PIR 82nd A/B Div. . Due to his PSTD issues , he hesitantly told nasty tales of all fighting he participated in .

Not just for America saving France from.thebNazis , but, also , saving Frances butt in info - China ,SouthVietnam , which the Cmunidts took over , eventually @ cost of nearly 60000 American lives . One of those lives was my uncle kia mid3/68 , tail end of TET , about 2 wks b-4 my 11th bday !

@@MarkThrelfall-eb6hf To a certain degree you're correct but American fighters and the country had already defeated the British... France provided the Navy as support. Americans had to rescue most of Europe and France specifically. Americans fought for freedom and independence.... France surrendered and gave Germany their country. Touché

@@jimbt9889 The only reason we had a chance against the British was their military preoccupation with France across the ocean. Also, getting control of the waters was the biggest boon to the US. We needed the ability to trade and receive supplies.
