I just gigged with a 60 yesterday. It was a pretty quiet gig, but I had people telling me it sounded amazing and I was easily heard without being mic'd. I was using it as a powered speaker running my pedalboard into the effects return.

I’ve been playing my Catalyst 60 for almost two years and I really loooove the amp. I can get so good 60’s, 70’s and 80’s rock tones.

I bought a first gen Catalyst 200 two months ago for half the price, brand new and am running my Boss ME-80 into the power amp in. Sounds Killer!

Been playing valve amp for years, this is my first non valve amp i realy like and can use for live gigs and feeling comfortanle with sound. Great amp for $250 us

I have the Boss Katana 50 and the Peavey Bandit (red stripe) and I like them a lot! But I still won't go on stage without my "expensive" tube amps and pedal board.

I don't have a lot of experience with different types of amps. Since you have reviewed both, would you choose a Catalyst 200 or a St. James EL34 (or 6L6) 2x12?

Used first-gen Catalysts are a bargain at the moment. People don’t realize that you can load the CX firmware for free, and get all the new amp models! I picked my first Cat 60 for $160, and just scored another for $100. Both are mint, and it’s great having the features that were missing from the Katana 50, like FX loops and more dynamic low-gain tones.

3 weeks I opened the box and the speaker magnet was all chipped up

CX60 is 300 Euro and the pedalboard with heavenly uafx and Colloseum overdrive 450 Euro. Does it mean that this amplifier not has a decent overdrive and reverb. I know I am provocating, but I have often seen demos of a relativ cheap amp together with a pedalboard that cost 5 to 10 times more which makes the demo useless for me.
