I appreciate the crazy effects here! Most of the Pod demos are the same conservative blues rock and metal sounds. Thanks for showing another side to this unit.

Yeah, I often get bored with those. :)

oh snap, this thing crushes any BOSS GT I've ever owned! The harmonizer sounds impossibly clean, there's practically no aliasing or sampling decimation, I can hardly believe this...
@AnttiLoponen9 жыл бұрын
+German Salazar Well, there are the occasional glitches in the harmonizer/synths, it's not perfectly clean, but at the same time I've learned how to play to make the harmonizer/synths work (just single notes, strong attack, not too low and not too high, no additional noise). And finally, these are just the best takes I made ;) But still, I haven't tried any Boss GT products, would be fun to compare.
@zaiten20129 жыл бұрын
gotcha, in that respect BOSS harmonizers are similar, all monophonic; precise as long as there's clean picking. It's issues aren't really warbling or glitching but rather sound decimation and aliasing, meaning "lo-fying', the resampling of the signal is not that good. A way to mask this issue with the GT's is to place the FX before the OD/dist in the signal chain so the fuzz hides the decimation fizziness. Nonetheless, you didn't use distortions and as far as synth voices, Line6 rules BOSS; all the GTs have is a rudimentary square/saw wave. maybe the new SY300 has all kinds of crazy polysynth stuff but at twice the price.

That is correct. You have to play a single note, whose pitch is tracked and then a synth sound with the said pitch is triggered. You could theoretically control it by singing.

with this, can you do sounds like Matt Bellamy and Tom Morello ?, i want to buy one but i don't know, i want this for sounds like Muse and Jack White, and also, this line 6 has a vocoder ? cheers man you are awesome.
@AnttiLoponen8 жыл бұрын
Yes, you can do all the Tom Morello tones (except the ones where he uses a custom guitar with an oscillator). I'm not that into Muse so I don't know how Matt Bellamy gets his tones, but I believe he also has a custom built guitar so I'm not 100% sure. There is a vocoder indeed, you can connect a mic and blend it with the guitar. Thanks!
@sth91888 жыл бұрын
Thanks man, and how much it costs ?
@aidanpoulter95147 жыл бұрын
Nice tones. I'll definately look those up on custom tone and download. Hey, where do you buy those pimped cases for pod hd. It's like a flight case kinda tough thing!? I always loved that bubble echo effect but never ever got anything written or recorded with it. Wild sound though. Just bought a 500x and loving particle verb and the ducking parameter with echo. Cheers.

Thanks! I ordered my HD500 from an online store called Thomann and they make cases for any product with their product line called Thon Case.

Antti Loponen thanks. I tried looking them up. They're in the US it seems. I'm in Canada. Not sure I can use them. Thanks for prompt answering. Did you. Are any music with these crazy sounds in? Cheers. Crazy meant in the good sense. Who likes normal anayway

these are amazing patches, especially for chords by playing a single note only and they sound astoundingly realistic. do you have a patch recommendation for a piano-like sound, something like the end of layla, for single notes?
@AnttiLoponen8 жыл бұрын
It's not really doable with this device :) I would just go without amp model and use two octave harmonizers, one below and one above, but even then it wouldn't sound like a piano...

Amazing patches! I´m trying them one by one on a HD500X. This is my second day with the unit and I can't get the expression pedal to work as you do with your patches. Any help would be appreciated :)
@AnttiLoponen5 жыл бұрын
Hm, difficult to say. Does the expression pedal work on any patch, as a wah or volume or anything? If not, it could be a calibration issue and there's probably instructions on the internet for that. Also clicking the toe switch on the pedal could have an effect on how it effects the patch.
@DaroZmith5 жыл бұрын
Thank you. Yes, it was a calibration issue related to firmware update :D

These are awesome. Question for you, right now, with the organ patch, it plays a chord when a single note is played on the guitar. Is there a way to make the CHORDS you play on your guitar come out as if the chord was played on an organ? Thanks!
@AnttiLoponen7 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I'm sorry but chords are not possible with this device. The synths are monophonic, the pitch detector recognizes and reproduces only one pitch at a time. If you want to play chords, get the Electro Harmonix C9 pedal.
