These guys just keep on giving and future proofing your investment. Never regretted having decided to buy in to these amps and modeller. Thank you Line 6 and the team. Please, never change your support for the everyday musician.

Im hoping there is a head and cab version in the works. The Catalyst seems to have a close relation with the pod express functions. Maybe Yamaha will combine the two and make the gear multifunctional. Amazing tones.

I don't know if you've improved the mounting of the bezel around the control panel, but I had to buy some small wood screws to fasten it when it broke off. I couldn't find black screws so it doesn't look very professional. 3 or 4 screws would do it. Other than that, I LOVE this amp and the fact that I can upgrade it to the CX features is fantastic! I can't wait to try the new models. 😁

I don't have one of these. I watched a little bit. So they give alternate amp types. Katana also does this. I guess it's good that they give Roland (Boss) some competition.

Love the new firmware for my Cat 100. What would be really cool is if we could hold down the Boost button and use the Selector Knob to switch boost models. :)

Hello just found this vid. Is there a suggested setting for the EVH brown sound I’m using high gain it’s sounding a little muddy? Guitar SG burst bucker bridge pick up. Same with my clean kinda muddy neck pup. Also to start over for designing an amp model do I use “manual” make my settings then save it. I really want to move away from my EVH 5150 III 6l6 combo. Thanks. Bob

How does it handle external pedals like drives? Can it be a good pedal platform

Hey man. I have the older version and a pedal board with 3 overdrives set at different gain levels and 1 clean booster. The amp takes them very well. I use mainly the Boutique channel on the edge of breakup. It's perfect for me and I am extremely picky with tone.

I had 2 overdrives on and a fuzz and it didn't seem to faze it.

any plans on adding more IRs to the Catalyst edit? 1x12, 2x12, 4x12, is pretty limiting... thx.

I’d say likely not as Windows 7 is no longer a supported Microsoft OS.

So, silly question… since its knobs are in the same position than the first Catalysts, Is there anyway that with the old models I can update the system to the CX using the usb cable? That would be great since I just barely bought a normal Catalyst 200.

Yes, you can update the firmware and the catalyst edit app. I did it past week with no issues. Follow the Line6 web instructions. I updated the firmware with Line6 Central app on PC connected with USB cable and the master volume knob must be at 0 to the amp being recognized. Greetings!
