This thing is terrific. I love the fact that it allows me to play my guitars without dragging a cable around, but my favorite thing about it is how it eliminates the hum that has plagued my guitar setup since I moved into my current house. Let me explain in detail in case anyone is having a similar issue in their house... Whenever I plugged any of my guitars into an amp or recording equipment that was plugged into any power outlet in my house, there was an annoying and steady hum that I could hear. I used a tuner app on my phone to verify that the hum was 60hz. My guitars with lower output pickups made the hum sound worse because the signal to noise ratio was lower. The only way to get the 60hz hum to go away was to plug my guitar into an amp that was battery powered. I tried a power conditioner to no avail, confirmed my guitar cables were shielded, and confirmed my guitars weren't defective. I asked the pro audio guy at Guitar Center, a luthier, a friend who is an electrical engineer, and even an electrician who was at our house, and they were all stumped at what could be done to solve the problem. I came to accept that something outside of our house (e.g., perhaps the high voltage power lines that are less than 200 yards away) were causing some time of ground loop or interference, and that certain guitars just couldn't be used in my house because of the annoying hum. Then one day I had the idea to try this. I thought: given the fact that plugging my guitar into a batter powered amp fixed the issue, perhaps breaking the physical electrical path between my guitar and wall socket via a wireless system would also work. And indeed it did! I can now use any of my guitars, even the ones with lower output pickups, with an amp or recording equipment plugged into my house wall sockets, and I'm hum free!

One thing to note about this unit is that it worked great with my electric guitars, but it did't work with any of my several acoustic electrics. This is a common problem and is solved by plugging a 1/4" male to 1/4" female adapter into the guitar and then plugging the G10 into that. Based upon what I saw at the forums and my own experience I believe this is such a common problem that one should just be in the box. Tip: go ahead and pick up the adapter if you buy the G10. Nothing is more of a pain than having to return to the store or place another online order and wait for it to come so that you can use the wireless. Otherwise, seems like it works pretty much as advertised.

Same thing happened to me. And no where on the website I bought it from or even in the owner's manual its self does it say, this may not work with some guitars. Only by diving deep into website reviews was I able to find the fix (which is what you said...the 1/4" mono adapter)

Mines the same, I think battery is just dead. Usually rechargeable battery only last a couple of years so might need a replacement 🤔

Hi LIne6 is there an adapter from standard 9v to 5V mini USB to run the device with a standard power brick?

As far as plugging into an audio interface... 1/4" into High-Z acts the same and the XLR balanced can be used, or not recommended?! Also, can the G10 be used with a Moog synth, etc.. (i.e. anything with a 1/4" input)?!

May be a silly question, but does this work like normally connecting your guitar to your amp?? The transmitter goes into my guitar, the receiver goes into the amp input?

Yeah that's how you'd get the signal to the amp from the receiver. Just a standard 1/4 inch jack like a guitar cable, though you'd probably be better off with a short, stomp box 1/4 inch cable to keep things uncluttered. I personally have it directly on top my amp so I use that small cable :)

the 1/4 inch unbalanced adapter suggestion does not work with Fishman power jack pre amps

Things that go wrong weigh this unit are ... 1. Battery burns up and can catch fire. 2. Using more than one line 6 wireless unit on stage can't end in fairly difficult trouble shooting. 3. It's disconnecting and then won't charge even after 6 hours still won't charge 4. Line 6 should have recalled this garbage but instead they just let you their customer house burn down from faulty line 6 wireless unit battery burn up !

is there a tutorial for this for the one sold withot the receiver? I bought the whole nine yards (Line 6 30w Spider, G10T receiver)) and have yet to get it to make any noise. So much for an enthusiastic unboxing, I am on day 4 of trying to get this thing to work.

The Spider V 30 does not have the wireless receiver built in. Only the Spider V 60, 120, 240, and 240HC have the wireless receiver built in.

The micro usb connector is crap and fall out of the socket regularly making the unit un reliable and unusable. I had no issues with the performance of the unit when it worked, it was exactly what I was looking for, however, the power issues makes this a no go for any practical user. I spent $160 for a piece of plastic that does nothing. Do not buy in it's present configuration.
