As the storyline of the Old Testament went further on, there were less and less miracles and more of an expectation to depend on the written word. Very few prophets were called after the Jews returned from the Babylonian captivity and no miracle stories are given except Esther's actions to rescue the Jews from destruction. Then we get to the New Testament with an overload of miracles done by Christ, then the disciples. After that, it's just John receiving the book of Revelation in about 95 AD. Today a lot of miracles supposedly exist, but when the ones performing them teach ideas that contradict the Bible, we can know they are 'false' miracles. False not in the sense of a con artist playing a magician's trick, but a bona fide supernatural event, just done by Satan in an effort to lead people astray. The most notable of these are near death experiences. I like the way this video makes a brief discussion about how false miracles will play out as the world comes to its end just before the Second Coming of Jesus.
