Can we apply this way for all types of determinant?

These methods require the determinants to be square determinants, and some methods only work for 3 x 3 types

The method of the positive diagonals, and negative diagonals no longer works for larger matrices than the 3x3 matrix. So for a 4x4 and anything beyond, you'd have to use the method of sub-determinants and the alternating sign pattern.
