How lucky you are, and I'm about to confuse this entire semester which is full off linear algebra 😭😭

Words cannot express my gratitude for all your content on KZbin! I got incredibly depressed this semester and had difficulties attending even a quarter of my classes due to family emergencies, back to back illnesses, and responsibilities. This single video not only explained a lot of the gaps in my understanding but your cheery attitude got me through all of it. I wish I had found your channel sooner but I'm going to definitely be recommending these videos to my schoolmates , our school is infamous for having really smart but terrible teachers for the math department. Gonna refresh on the topics I didn't quite get for my last midterm tomorrow before my final with your in depth lectures! If I pass this class it's all thanks to you, so thank you again!

Thank you so much for the kind words. It sounds like you had a lot going on this semester, and I know that can make academics so much more difficult. I send you my well wishes and good luck with your final!

Thank you very much for your videos Dr Hower. I took my final in linear algebra about 2 hours ago and your playlist going over the full course has helped me understand this subject throughout this semester when I thought it was hopeless. Thank you for keeping this information free and available to everyone, as well as making this a fun subject to learn through your videos.

You have such a no-nonsense method of teaching, which is a lifesaver for some of us that procrastinated instead of studying for the finall. To top it off you have a pretty face too. I wish you were my tutor in university Dr Hower :)

Thank you for providing this review. My final is this week and I was wondering if there's any way to have a blank copy of this final that's in the video, so I can take it from what I know already.

For Q.11(b) can I use x1=[-1, 1] and x2=[1, 1] and arrive at the same result on Q.11(d)?
@DrValerieHower Жыл бұрын
You can label the x's however you'd like in B. What matters is when you get to D, that the columns in each matrix go in the correct order.

5j: I don't think T((1,0)) * T((1,1)) is possible to even perform to begin with. T has dimensions (2x2). (1,0) has dimensions (2x1). (1,1) has dimensions (2x1). T((1,0)) * T((1,1)) (2x2)(2x1) * (2x2)(2x1) (2x1) * (2x1) The inner numbers (1 and 2) do not match. This product is impossible to perform. If we took the TRANSPOSE of T((1,0)), then the dimensions would work out. (T(1,0))^T * T((1,1)) ((2x2)(2x1))^T * (2x2)(2x1) (2x1)^T * (2x1) (1x2) * (2x1) (1x1) =1 Is there something I am possibly overlooking?

Hi. This True False is a statement about two vectors being perpendicular. It is testing the topic of orthogonal transformations. What we show during the semester is: If v and w are two vectors in R^n And T:R^n to R^n is an orthogonal transformation. then the dot product of v and w equals the dot product of T(v) and T(w). I have a dot here for dot product of two vectors. As we use the dot product in the definition of perpendicular. I hope this clarifies. t hank you so much..
@keldonchase44924 ай бұрын
@@DrValerieHower Oh my gosh, I am so clumsy. I interpreted the dot as a multiplication instead of a Dot Product. The computation makes perfect sense now. Thank you so much!! :)
@DrValerieHower3 ай бұрын
You are welcome! Not a problem at all. Your response was absolutely correct regarding matrix product. I was just using dot product. :)
