This works for creating linear panning in a zoom, but the scale itself is still easing. Am I do something wrong? I'm going for a much slower zoom than you're doing here so it makes a big difference

THANKS SO MUCH Carl, you saved my life. I prefer FCPX than Premiere, but in Premiere we can this with simple way, and in FCPX, always this "weird visual shift" like you said. Thanks to you, now I can do the linear zoom in FCPX. GOD BLESS YOU!!!

Thanks so much. I was tearing my hear out as I needed a scrolling program of events flyer, which faded in and out, so didn't want any easing on the scrolling motion as it looked ridiculous. I hadn't even discovered this side of Final Cut. Your explanation was perfect. A minute later and it's fixed. Thanks again.

How to change it to linear just by scaling? The linear option only works when you move the video on the x/y as, right?

Would love to know if there's a way to default to linear points if possible. When doing edits with LOTS of transform points in one clip, it starts to get really messy trying to manually change each point one at a time as they start to overlap.

Brilliant! I made the first one linear (position) but didn't know you had to make the other one linear too (scale)!

That's not it. this doesn't work with animating shape masks for colour grades. There should be a toggle in the settings somewhere.

Brilliant. Beats creating some complicated Motion thing like another video suggested.

Thanks, all these years, all I needed to do was right-click and set it to linear. Makes you wonder why that is not the default.

I know, I wish there was a way to default to linear.

Hey Carl! I just recently come across your videos and they are so insightful! I love them. My question is, is there any way to recreate the Hover:background effect that squarespace has on in portfolio page? So essentially, hovering over text to reveal a background image or video. Thank you!

Thank Daniel. Possibly, I would have to look into that. I can't see it being easy though.
