Thank you so much for a very instructive tutorial. I really needed it today, after having watched videos with loud music, fast movements, and too few close-ups, that I feel very calm, and collected now about my project, after having watched your video. I know I will need to watch this several times, and also pause a lot, but what the heck, maybe I'll be finish with the dress before the end of next weekend. :) :)

Pressing alert (esp for beginners): @7:38 pressing either after stitching a seam or after a construction step like turning out isn’t just about wrinkles or if it wrinkles again before finishing. Pressing a stitched seam or area (iron gets placed straight down for a second, lift then straight down again at a different spot) sets the stitches and keeps fabric smooth and in relative position for clean and more precise construction. The end result will look far more professional and less “homemade”. “Press as you sew!” Then final pressing and also ironing (iron stays on fabric with sliding around motion) after laundering etc for the finale. Those are not wasted steps. 👍

I've just been having the worst time understanding a pattern 6441a at the point of the bodice to the lining. I could not for the life of me understand the part where you are sewing at 7:50 on my pattern instructions. Watching your clip just made me go "OH! of course!" Thank you for this. I've never done a dress before let alone a dress with lining in the bodice.
