I just realized a fabulous trick to avoid folding fitted sheets - only have 1 set of sheets, because then you have to put them back on the bed again immediately, thereby eliminating the need to fold and store. Yesssss :)

Yup, I mentioned that in my video on folding fitted sheets. It's the "trick" we use. ;)

😆😆 I have 4 that's good enough two good sheet and two bad ones for you know girls monthly problems 😆. I had got rid of random sheets not even a set and a old quilt had holes even though bought two new ones (thinner warmer days and thicker colder).

Oh, no! I never thought of the puppies before - but now I shall never be able to forget them. All those dear little things deprived of the comfort of the duvets and pillows (past their best) cluttering up my linen cupboard.... It's no good. I shall have to make a sizable donation and very soon indeed!

We have 2 sets of bed clothes for each bed, and the one that isn’t on is kept in the cupboard of the room where they get used. I put them in a basket on the shelf and they are easy to find no matter who makes the bed. We also have 2 towels each and a few spares. About 8 hand towels though as they get wet and grungy.

Done. Submitted photo yesterday. Purged son’s closet and bath today. Whew. Clean enough for open heart surgery. Cleaned out the cat toys and cat caddy, too! I have towel junkies. I wash large amounts every day. I have all white everything. Much easier!.

Thanks I love this series I believe in 5 -10 min declutters ( as you will actually do it and keeps you organized) By the way I keep 2 sets of bedsheets I fold the the same way but keep them in in the clear zip pouches they come in and throw the fabric softener sheet in as well to keep it fresh smelling . I keep this under the bed .

I do the same thing Laura, except I fold everything in half again, put it in the pillow case, and then fold the other half of the pillow case over. My linen closet is not as wide. It is great to just grab and go!

I just love turning on the captions. Today's translation of your "good bye" is: Grab me a Margaret. What's someone think of the puppies? I'm currently on version 5.0 of our linen shelves. I am very close to getting them stored efficiently and everything being accessible. My favorite thing to do is fold linens.
@judysbakeryandtestkitchen16544 жыл бұрын
Laura, this is great! We do have too many linens. But I’d like to suggest you hang onto some old towels for spills and plumbing issues. We’ve had a pipe leak or a half gallon of milk fall out of the fridge... Having those two xtra towels somewhere handy is fabulous. Then there was the time our upstairs neighbor had a pipe burst under her bathroom sink, and didn’t know how to turn it off. Water just kept coming!!! What’s really tough is decluttering wedding gifts. Some beautiful linen tablecloths; never used. Serving dishes that need polishing so I keep them wrapped up. Gotta think this though. Best part of decluttering is getting rid of gifts that have negative thoughts arise. Does your t shirt say clogging, or blogging? I had to stop clogging years ago due to pain. I sure loved it.
@HowToGYST4 жыл бұрын
It says blogging but I love that you did clogging! For leaks, etc. none of my towels are so fancy that I wouldn't think twice about using them in such a scenario (and then either giving them a sanitising wash or replacing them). I also have some rags and old dish towels in the kitchen for smaller leaks and spills.

I do the pillow case thing too .. but I keep mine in the clear zippered plastic thing they come in with a fabric sheet that I used with it. This keeps it protected and nice smelling ( a plastic bag can do the same )

I am anti-light colored fabrics. I don't separate my laundry by color and I'm at an age where I still menstruate. White sheets and pants are the bane of my existence. Gray or darker only in my house. (This can also help minimize your wardrobe if you are moving towards a capsule.)

I wash/dry all my bedsheets+towels on the same day so that I don't need extra as well. So I have 1 bed and 1 set of sheets for that (wash/dry and put on bed on the same day). I only have 2 extra pillow cases because I change those more often. And I have 3 towels - 1 for me, 1 for my girlfriends when she's over, and 1 extra for if we have guests or someone wants a clean towel. I do have 6 small towels, because I like to use a new one every 1-2 days bc I use it for my face so wanna keep it extra clean for clear skin :P. But since I only use the body towel after shower/when my body is clean, I don't mind reusing that more.

I have grapheme synaesthesia as well as other forms so colours are very important. 😳 I have a performance poet / goth friend who has special towels and bedding in purple, and my daughter and grandkids got to pick their own colours for me to buy for when they stay. I store then in vacuum bags and get them washed and aired for whoever is coming to stay. So this year, they've not been out of the bags.😢 I know I've extra pillows, so Edinburgh Dog And Cat Home will be my next excursion on the bus.💖

i recently moved out of my parents' house and bought 4 small and 4 large towels, and everyone said it was too much, but i like fresh towels and am used to a clean towel every day 😬 i do only keep two sets of bedsheets, i cant with the pressure of washing and drying all in one day
@santanalaforgue91544 жыл бұрын
I did the same when I left my parents' house : 2 sets of bed sheets, 4 small towels and 4 large towels. It has been ten years... working like a charm! My tip : match one set of bed sheets with half of your towels, and another one with the rest of them.

My linen closet is a disaster. It holds extra pc parts, towels, camping gear and extra school supplies. We had to move in with in-laws (apartment air stopped and landlords wouldn't fix) until we buy a home in Oct/Nov. We have a bathroom and 3 bedrooms to store everything we own so every room has weird bits in it. Examples: my couch is in my bedroom and all kitchen stuff is in my bedroom closet.

I don’t like the idea of using a pillowcase as a cover for the sheet set. Someone eventually lays their head on that pillowcase that’s been exposed to who knows what! The pillowcases should always be concealed inside the set!

We don't have guests all that often and, when we do, I run all the bedclothes through a rinse cycle before dressing the beds again. 🙂
