@@EmmaHill Currently, orange wood with a shiny varnish. It was given to me by an elderly neighbour who had lovingly made it in the 80's & was throwing it out. I'm thinking of initially, keeping the top mantle shelf wood & painting the rest the same/similar to my walls (F&B Wimborne White, colour matched by Valspa) or matt white. It surrounds a ingle nook fire place with an old log burning stove.

Small linen cupboard so I use boxes to separate all sorts of cloth products table cloths napkins runners in one . cushion covers in another bedding.etc not as aesthetic as Emma I use clear bins. It has helped me both organise and cut down

It all takes time, patience and practise. Learning from your mistakes is definitely a key part but there are so many useful tips online that it’s easy to start, and it saves so much money 🙌🏼

Great project. I admire your perseverance around the shelves. I would take them out, install the boards or use wallpaper and then put the shelves (somehow) in the end. Lovely project. How durable do you find this paint? I've done a similar project but my basket leave scratches. After repairing twice, now I've decided to give the basket a soft bottom by stiching felt on them

I used the paint in my wardrobe room and it’s been great! You have to let it properly cure for the specified time on the tin but it’s made for kitchen cupboards which of course would have daily use so it’s made to be very robust. I haven’t put anything on the bottom of these baskets as they’re soft but if you had wooden or metal baskets I would use the self adhesive felt furniture pads on the bottom, they’re cheap as chips and often come in sets which are always useful to have 🙌🏼

Yes and no. The way the shelves were fitted needed to be put in first so they float but also Simon surprised with me with the shelves whilst I was away before I had a solid plan of what I wanted to do so this is how it had to be x

The idea behind having a cupboard is to not need those straw boxes. It all looks very attractive but certainly not practical. When you’re changing sheets and distributing towels and throws, if it is all showing it makes the job much easier.

It’s just a basket. I have so many cushions that I’d still need to go through the pile so makes no difference sliding out a basket than grabbing a pile to go through. I’m definitely not going to lose precious time by doing an activity like grabbing a basket and opening it 🙈
