I have a 3 month old and treating with B complex and LA200. How often do you do the LA200 and how long. I treated 1ml of both.

Hi there, how often do you give the dextramethazone and for how many days? How many days do you do the thiamine(B1) for and then how many weeks of boosters? Thank you
@LinessaFarmsАй бұрын
Dex is usually not given for more than 2-3 days max. Thiamine is usually given for 5 days and can be given 1-2 times a week as needed until they are fully recovered.

My baby goat is almost 1 month old bottle fed because mom rejected him, I was wondering what dose of the vitamin B complex in a syringe (oral) do I give him and how often? Also can I add some water with the vitamin B complex in the syringe because I know the bigger goat does not like the taste.

Thank you! I'm fighting this in a Saanen doeling right now. Have been treating with Vitamin B Complex & Penicillin every 12 hours for 3 days. I think I'll head to the vet tomorrow with her. Wondering if the Vitamin B Complex doesn't have high enough % of Thiamine.
@LinessaFarms Жыл бұрын
Not all vitamin B is created equally. You might need to get “fortified” vitamin B from your vet that contains the right amount of thiamine.

@@LinessaFarms thanks to your VERY helpful video, I'll be taking her in to the vet. She's a granddaughter of a Caprikorn Farms buck from Maryland. REALLY don't want to lose her!! Thank you again!

great video. So the goat should be treated about once a week for the rest of its life after recovering from polio? My 1 year old whether is star gazing, mostly blind, easily startled, when I pick him up his neck cranks to the right and gets stiff. He's still walking around and eating but definitely loses orientation and his relying on sound and smell. I started B complex injections yesterday. Hoping he recovers....but it sounds like I'll need to give a Vitamin B shot about once a week going forward?
@LinessaFarms3 жыл бұрын
Hello and thank you for watching our videos. Continue with the vitamin B injections until he recovers and consider continuing them a couple of additional weeks. After this, you should be able to stop the injections. If he should not recover there may be some more in depth physiological damage which may never correct itself regardless of medication.

There is no good answer for this question because it’s difficult to know why this is happening.

Where can you get dexamethasone? I don't have a single vet in my area that will sell me any nor give me a prescription for it so I can buy it elsewhere. I really need it....yesterday. Have been treating a lamb with PEM for 5 days now with the B1 but seeing slow or very little improvement. Really need the dexamethasone!

Hi, I have an older sheep who is now having trouble with her back legs. She can't seem to stand up. Any suggestions? I see that you can give them aspirin but I am a bit nervous about it. Thank you!
@LinessaFarms9 ай бұрын
Is she pregnant or does she have any other issues going on? There are many different reasons this could be happening ranging from parasites, nutritional deficit, age related pain, or infection. You would need to check her temperature to see if she has an infection as well as check her for parasites. If these come back clean, I would encourage you to look at her nutrition and consider some vitamin B, specifically thiamine. If she is just old and having joint pain you can use tumeric in her feed. You would need to give this daily to see results (if it is due to inflammation).

Hello Sir My Goat has been suffering from PEM Since last Sunday...All Symptoms have been gone except blindness.....now what medicine should I give to my goat... currently we are giving Neurobion injection 3ml 02 times a day

I would also consider injectable vitamin B complex if it is available.

WARNING make sure your b complex has B1..... some don't
@LinessaFarms3 жыл бұрын
Jessica, this is correct. Goat polio is due to a thiamine deficiency and individuals should be cautious to ensure their vitamin B "complex" shows B1. Check your label... Most fortified B complex will have B1 but all B vitamin complexes are not created equally. For our customers living overseas, you may see B1 referred to as thiamine, thiamin, or aneurine.
